Not showing my age, but I first saw Dick Bailey race about 1951 at the OLD Butler Speedway!!  In 1952 he finished 5th in the National NASCAR points for the Sportsman cars back in the old flathead Ford days.  That year he ran 110 NASCAR races on the local tracks. He stuck with the coupes as they became "Modifieds" then into Super-Modifieds and eventually Sprint Cars. He also spent some time in early Late Model racing on the old PRA circuit. He raced on the beach at Daytona in what is now the Cup series and also in a Modified Chevy coupe on the high banks of DIS which opened in 1959.   A fantastic career!!  GET WELL DICK!!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Walt.

If I said I remember him racing at Tri City does that make me old. I remember he use to take a bus from the old Grove City Bus Lines and take a load of race fans to Williams Grove. Also I believe he still actively raced into his twilight years. God Bless DB

Dick's brother Jim was married to my cousin Bette, so my family took us to watch Dick race at Sharon, which is one of my earliest memories. I will be 69 in December Tim so yes, he raced a long time. Wishing him all the best.
