A big "you suck"

to Mercer for not updating their site about the little guys, its the "little" things like this that drove away your faithful. Why would it be to much trouble to post the winners on twitter or Facebook?? Oswego updated their results every 2-3 minutes the entire night, kudos to them. I hope that the new owners  care a little more for their fans.

I understand your interest and figure you were not there.

You missed a great show and it was the best over all racing I've seen all year.  I was going to go to Wayne County or Dog Hollow today but after what I got to see last night, there's no way I'm going anywhere else today.  Everyone I talked to except one person who would normally go to the Allstar race at Wayne County, said they were going to skip the jammed packed parking and fighting the crowds at Wayne County.  Doing it because the worth of the racing at Mercer last night made the decision to be back today for more.

I can't wait to get there again today.

Sure glad I didn't sprint for a two day ticket at PPMS and have to endure today a 100 lap dirt race.  A 100 lap dirt race is as drawn out and can't wait for it to end as a NAPCAR race.  Been to one NAPCAR race and never going back and after the 100 lap will it ever end Dirt Car race at Sharon, never going to another one of those either.

I almost went to PPMS just so I could go to the last race ever there.  After getting to watch the great racing at Mercer last night I glad I went and I made the right pick.

edit:  Jammed packed pits and camping at Mercer.  Very sad though the stands were no more full to even less then a normal Saturday night show.  A lot of fans missed a lot of great racing last night.

Agree !

I again understand your concern.  I'm also a huge Pope fan and it really troubles me I cannot find a transcript of the Pope's sermon last Sunday on the Vatican web site.  You'd think with all the resources available the Vatican could make it easy to read the Pope's last sermon.   They need to spend more time helping those who choose not to attend or can't attend.

Yeah, I'm more concerned with the status of the racetrack at this point. Too many tracks aren't ever coming back in this area without us pushing them over the edge for how long it takes to update the website. Mercer's zoning could close the track permanently if they don't run next year. My understanding is that Bill is checking on how many races they have to run to avoid that. So yeah, let's keep whining about the websites of tracks on the edge, make it easier to just let them die.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Bill Altman is done period with the race track. He had every intention of closing it up at the end of August. He did the pig roast to replace a banquet. The Little Guy Nationals is being run by someone else who was looking at the track. The track is not located in Mercer Borough. They have no legal authority to impose their will on the track with zoning ordinances in the future. Additionally there is only one person on Mercer Borough Council that is opposed to the track and its operation. The good news is local businessmen have spoken up in favor of he track and its positive effect on their business. Right now Alman is hoping to sell the property for commercial development. The future of Mercer Raceway is very bleak. The track and its fans deserve a better fate.

Don't give me any shit, I've been going there since Park McKee owned it, I rode around in the watertruck with my Dad when I was very little. Have been going there thru all the owners, but this one ruined it. Everyone who knows me ,knows I would go from Canada to Florida for a good dirt race, hell I crewed for the winningest modified driver in Mercers history, and no one will ever equal his feature wins. when Vicki ruined the big block racing there, it was never the same. JMO. JMO.

Sorry Mercer PR, I left my house at 1:00PM, and your site was not updated at that time. I just figured it should have been there before the next race. I remembered I could get all the results at WhoWon.com. So, what ever, I guess theres no sense in even mentioning Mercer anymore anyway, so whatever.

Used to be a nice place to go. last night tells all, the biggest race of the year, and not even a big crowd.

Cool1...Did you ever think that the program ran very late last night and whoever does the website may have gone home to get some seep before doing such!!  I left at 12:30 and there were still five features to run!!  So it had to be after 2 AM when they got done.  Their press release didn't come in until this afternoon, when usually they arrive here before midnight on race night!!   I never look at Mercer's website for results, as I already have them being a member of the media but probably it is the same story. And usually Mercer gets their results out quicker than any track in the area!!    I've been around Mercer since the 60s when Otis Coulter ran the track, so I would guess that this Park McKee guy must have been before that??  Guess you mush have crewed for Lou Blaney as he is the all time Modified winner with 53 wins, one up on Tommy Kristyak??     Last night and tonight may be the biggest race of the year at Mercer when it comes to car counts, but not in the grandstand. It has always been a back gate driven race since Vickie started it 18 years ago.   Just too many "fans" that won't support local racing if the big three classes aren't running!!  Oh and BTW, the track announcer worked 12 hours at his regular job yesterday before even arriving at the track and announcing into the wee hours of the morning,  And I bet a good portion of the other employees worked their regular job Friday and then headed to the track!!   Cut them a break!!!

Walt, better check the records a little closer.Tommy has more mod wins than Lou, sorry to bust your bubble, cause I know you are the biggest Lou fan ever, when you announced at Tri City, you always spent half the night talking about him, and believe it or not, I was a true Lou fan also, but if you went to Vickie records at Mercer, Tommy has a few more than Lou, and that was years ago. You are probably right that I shouldn't be so hard on the staff, but they probably get paid to do a job. I still don't know why they can't update while the show is on. But don't worry, I think I'm about done with this site also, after all these years, I'm just disgusted with all the BS that is going on, and at this point in my life, I don't need it. And yes, Park owned, or run it in the 50's.  Good Luck Walt.

Think Lou is one ahead in big block wins!!   If you count the small block wins, yes, Tommy is ahead overall.
