i heard rumors that mercer is not going to open this year. what would be the reason for that?

The owner has it for sale and doesnt want to reopen.

that will leave a big opening on saturday night if it does not reopen. where will the spring cars go? sharon should add them to their race card but they probably would have to drop some other division.

Sharon is running a more than the usual number of sprint specials for 2018.
My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Saturday night sprint racing will be split between PPMS and Sharon. Both have scheduled a pile of sprint races.

Thank you for posting that Sprint fun. For a minute I was thinking people on this post must live under a rock if they are questioning about Mercer opening this year or not.
