Fair board decided apparently to NOT allow any dirt track racing for 2018... Seems a waste of a good regional asset already in place.
Any reason why they're not allowing racing this year?

That's a shame. So many tracks not running or up in the air for 2018. Eriez/Stateline drivers always supported Little Valley. Maybe they will venture further south for holiday specials this year.

Lots of theories on the Facebook pages, but not too many concrete reasons IMO.

I looked at the track and fair grounds on google earth. The fair grounds are land locked on three sides with parking access sort of only on two corners. The track takes up such a huge portion of the fair grounds, I could see the fair board wanting more land to expand normal fair activities. Maybe the track could be saved for awhile if it was configured to be smaller giving up land for other fair activities.
With general population growth the fair may want more land for the fair and looking at it from google earth there's no place else to get land to expand the fair except from the track.

It's right in the middle of the village and the noise has always been the talk and the curfew was always a concern.......

The Reason : " The Chief one being dwindling car counts in its Premier division " ( Track Website ) Just Like every other track !
The worst 8 year economy in History.. No more Income tax subsidy from the other 49 states .. ! Population of new York white people going down by 2% and Asians going up by 38%( 2000 to 2010 US Census) ! No fracking Aloud ! Put a fork in it !

Crowds were usually very good, car counts have always been on the light side for SLM's there, as they run infrequently there, usually against another show somewhere, and some drivers aren't comfy on the long straights with the higher speeds... WoO show there a while back had maybe 25 cars there, and the place was packed! Place had a pretty decent purse structure most folks thought... Car count reason pretty empty IMO.

I hope there is enough Fans who would demand racing come back! They will capitulate if there is !..What you got is CHUCK SHUMER.. And he Votes 100% against everything Trump stands for ! ( including the pledge of allegiance )
