[Walt Wimer]

Trying to find out some history/info on driver Jonathan Jones.  He raced with the Racesaver 305 Sprint Cars at Thunder Mountain and elsewhere last year, winning three races.  Is he part of the Jones family (Bill Jones/Bill Jones, Jr.) from Irvona that has run Sprint Cars off and on for quite a few years.  If so, what is his relation and how long has he been driving??    No record of him ever finishing in the top three at Thunder Mountain in either 2015 or 2016 but won there in 2017 and was third in points.

Yrs, he is the son of Bill Jones from irvona. Jonathon raced with the racesavers in 2017 all over pa.
He raced 410 at the season ending race at susquehanna in 2017, and will be running 410 at Lincoln on Feb. 24th

 Jonathan is Bill Seniors so and Billys brother I hope this helps.

thanks guys. Walt you are correct. Bill Sr is my dad and Bill Jr is my brother. B (bill jr) stepped away from racing after the birth of his son, and is focusing on family. I raced for my first time in 2014, running about 8 305 races. In 2015 I raced about 12 305 races, but took a hiatus in 2016 for a needed break. I returned to 305's this season, and raced my first 410 show at susquehannas sprint showdown season finale

Thank you, Jonathan!!    You finished in a tie for 5th in my annual #1 Cochran Cavalcade Points.  A season resume and the top point drivers will be in next week's issue of AREA AUTO RACING NEWS.  With Thunder Mountain not running the 305s anymore, are you moving to the 410s for this year??

Very cool, thank you. Our schedule this year is primarily made up of racesaver 305 races, but with some 410 appearances scattered throughout when time allows. Budget constraints make it difficult, if not nearly impossible to compete with the 410 sprints weekly.
