Very poorly attended. No late models, no mods.

There is a lot of work put into having your car at the mall. I had a few friends who used to take their cars up but you don't receive anything for having your car on display except for some free passes from Lernerville.

I was able to stop in at several car shows this year. Attendance was down across the board. I hope it's not a precursor for the season.

More importantly, we all should be doing what we can to promote our sport.

I thought the free tickets were a nice gesture on Lernervilles part. If you dont want them then give them to someone who has never been to a dirt race. Like I said, promote our sport.

So what are some good promotional ideas... love the sport... hate watching the struggle... just a couple thoughts:

1) get a couple drivers together and do a school circuit... with free passes for all students in hand... visit the school... promote the sport... bring math into it (education) and free passes... kids cant drive, so that means parents bring... and everyone buys a hotdog... and the stands have butts in them. I may go as far as free passes for kids on regular nights and one night... that pass can get the whole family in... with hopes of hooking them on the sport...

2) social network footprint... intentional videos, blog, tweet, encourage not just the night of racing, but make it part of your everyday...

3) part of the community... drivers tow to the local community fair and parade representing the track the day of the race... theyre everywhere... look... jeepfest along 79 draws thousands of gear heads from all over the country... arrange a Jeep cruise with the at Sharon on Saturday night... bring a Jeep, driver gets in free, park all in one area, toward the end of intermission (after track prep) show your Jeep off in parade laps...

... just thinking... any other thoughts?

My son & I used to be into classic cars (restoration, shows, cruise ins) cruise ins are everywhere. Butler & Irwin actually shut down main street for their yearly event. We were thinking of taking one of cars to the Irwin cruise in. Maybe Lernerville could provide some promotional materials or free passes to give out for those of us who would like to do something like this.

Back in the " good old days " we would receive ten free Lernerville tickets for doing the Butler Mall show and ten free Lernerville tickets for doing the Natrona  Heights show.  One year we even received a nice plaque from Lernerville.  The tickets were never for the pits.  And trust me,  no one to whom we gave a free ticket during the season ever complained about getting one.

Pittsburgh mills is a ghost mall, why not get a few race cars and attend some of the vo-tech schools. Race tracks need to invite these same students to there tracks to see what is going on. Invite car clubs, track owners think that if they run a ad in the paper or local radio station they are doing all they can.

I'm sure if you strap a car down to a dyno and let these young people see what kind of HP cars are making, the different types of chassis and suspensions, you mite just get people to take notice.

Lernerville gave 10 tickets for each show this year, same as last year. You can upgrade this year.

I'll take any tickets any of you don't want.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Cool... 10 tickets to either consume or share with sponsor family or friends... cost to track: $1 to print tickets... value to consumer: $100... gain is $99 value to track... plus likely they can write that off as a loss... so... theres a win. Other thoughts?
