I seen on Facebook they cancelled their open practice for Saturday April 21. And moved open night until Saturday May 19.

Yes saddly, I don't see this track surviving much longer.  After they disappointed last year cancelling race events the night before due to rain and saying that the track was beyond repair for the next night. Also for cancelling due to a fire in the concession stand and someone getting hurt.  Just sounds like Dave's kids didn't want to carry on their Dad's Legacy to me.

I'm sure there is a reason/excuse for them cancelling and pushing back their opener, but it's a shame to see a great track spiraling downhill this way.

I mean no disrespect.  I love this track and would've loved to race there this season, but I'm just going from past experience.  The writing appears to be on the wall.

Maybe its time to lease the track and keep up what their Father worked so hard to achieve.

When Dave ran the track, Marion Center was almost always the last to cancel.  That man did whatever it took to get a race in that evening.  Didn't pay very much but you could count on there being a race unless it was raining at 7:00. Id hate to see it close, maybe leasing it out would be the best way to go.

Those kids grew up on that land, those same kids were the ones making sure racers would be racing if it wasn't raining. How many years ? Maybe there getting tired too !!!

Well nobody else was able to run either, and it was really wet and cold.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

FanJim24  Thunder Mountain ran, and Dog Hollow Practiced as well.  Zero Hero 2 one person had something smart to say.  The rest of this thread has just been stating the obvious.

The couple times I went to Marion Center last year, they had good crowds, a nice field of cars, and very decent racing.   I think the dire predictions regarding the future of MC are a little premature.

It just becomes a broken record . Yes the bathrooms suck . But it is what it is . Deal with it or don't go . To many come on here every week and complain about the same stuff . Just gets old .
