Billy Simmons is the new promoter of Roaring Knob. He was the flagman and has worked at Elkins & I-79 in the past. Just saw a post on twitter, this can't be a bad thing as Jones had run the place into the ground.

From everything i have heard, that is the case, but i have never been to the track.  I do hope that the new promoter improves their website and keeps it up to date. and also, maybe he will start sending results to the media!!!

GOOD RACING!!!

Walt

Saw Rush pulled the sanction last Saturday because the track has no insurance policy in place.  Beyond me why guys would race there with that being the situation

There are some interesting comments on their Facebook post about this. Sounds like maybe something shady is going on.

Bottom line Rick owns the place now I believe. If it's the flagman thats now the promoter thats not gonna change anything.... He always ran the meeting etc anyway when I raced there a few times a few years ago.  It is sad what has happened cause I loved racing there and something about the place was exciting...

Not anymore.....  someone is selectively editing posts about insurance and safety stuff.  Like I said sad....  Hope somehow they or someone eventually gets the place turned around.

Only a brain dead fool that doesn't give a damn about their family and friends would race at a track that doesn't have insurance and the proper fire/EMS equipment and personnel on site......

In my few dealings with Billy, he seemed to be pretty decent.  Please give him the benefit of the doubt to help straighten things out there.  We don't need any more lost speedways.

He can start by getting rid of gigantic shelves at the top of both turns 1&2 and 3&4. When Ron had the track they could race top to bottom. For some reason Rick thought it was a good idea to make the track flat at the top of the turns so only half the track could be used. There are way too many promoters out there like Rick that have no business owning a racetrack. That is the only reason why tracks are closing.
