HOMAK PENN OHIO PRO STOCK CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCES JACOB’S TOWING & SERVICE WILL SPONSOR FAST QUALIFIER AND BISH HEATING & COOLING WILL SPONSOR HARD CHARGER AWARD FOR SEASON OPENER!

For Immediate Release

May 1, 2018 (Sandy Lake, PA) The Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series kicks off the 2018 season on Friday, May 4th at Thunder Mountain Speedway.  The event will be a $1,500 to-win, $200 to-start show with group qualifying.

Sponsoring the fastest qualifier award for Thunder Mountain’s event will be Jacob’s Towing.  A sponsor of the series since 2016, Jacob Billyk also supports the series as a driver.  In 2018, the Series will feature two Billyk drivers as Jacob and his son, Jacob Jr. have joined as driver members.

Jacob’s Towing specializes in heavy duty truck towing and repair, ranging from transmissions to engine rebuilding to brakes and batteries.  The company is owned and operated by the Billyk family and is located at 1121 Grandview Avenue in New Castle, PA.

Thunder Mountain’s hard charger award will be presented by Bish Heating & Cooling.  Joining the Series in 2017, Curt Bish, driver of the orange 00 also joined the Series as a sponsor and is returning in both capacities in 2018.

Bish Heating and Cooling is located in Oil City and provides Franklin, Oil City, Titusville and the surrounding areas with 24/7 service of all heating and air conditioning needs, including all makes and models, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, sales, service, and installation.  Emergency service is also available.

“As mentioned before, we are very fortunate to have business owners like Billyk and Bish step into the role as series’ members and sponsors,” stated Series Director, Shaun Hooks.  “We look forward to the 2018 season and can’t wait for this Friday at Thunder Mountain.”

The Homak Penn Ohio Series will feature a 13-race schedule in 2018.  The series will have registered drivers battling for a championship with an estimated $15,000 point fund plus additional money and contingency prizes throughout the season.  Drivers can still join the Series - http://www.pennohioprostocks.com/2018%20REGISTRATION.pdf.

It seems as though you want them to cancel early.  One of the praises of TM that I read on this board is that they get the show in when other tracks won't chance it, i.e. they don't cancel early.  The locals appreciate that, I imagine, so I hope they don't bail early and hurt the reputation they're building with those that attend regularly.

Nobody wants to get washed out, but those traveling any distance, great or small, will have to weigh risk vs. reward.  All part of deciding to follow a series instead of racing in your back yard, I suppose.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.
