It was posted on Facebook today that Marion Center has yet again pushed back their start date (June 2nd) due to unexpected health problems. Hoping that whoever is ill gets well soon. Must be something pretty serious.

May as well just leave it closed pretty soon. This will be ruining racing for most of thier racers. Most of the Marion Guys only race there!

I really don"t know much about Marion Center. I have only been there a hand full of times, but alwas saw good hard racing. If it is health issues I can understand. Things happen! Who ever has the health problem I wish them the best.

They never usually open until May anyway, and with the way the weather has been on Saturday nights, they would have been lucky to get a show in. I always go to Marion Center two or three times during the season, and despite its "primitive" nature always enjoy the racing there.

They should really update the main Facebook... Some people said they drove as far as 3 hours one way because the website said they were racing only to find the place locked up
Maybe that person is in charge of the social media end of things . BTW Gene glad your retired from racing with stupid beliefs like that .

Once again the "ZERO" Has justified his username! I fail to see how me feeling bad for a bunch of guys that spent all winter and all thier money to race are sitting at home. Racers spend all year making thier plans for the season. So I am sorry I have the racer in mind! Hate to hear anyone is having bad health. Wish the best to who ever it is! But It gets down to weather you are running a business or not?? I will never bash any track. Not doing that here. But Marion Center has probably the shortest season of any track. Doesn't need to get any shorter. Allways liked racing there. Was allways a great little track and Nice people. My Mothers home town!. Maybe management should think about leasing??? But I am not privy to any inside information. Just hope they get up and running. Yes... weather has been bad this Year! I get it! As far as my retirement???? News to me. I currently sponsor engines to two different super latemodel teams ..and plan to be racing next year again myself. As Most people know had a 7 hour neck surgery two years ago that has sidelined me for a while. The cars I am sponsoring are running up front and winning races?? Whats your excuse "ZERO"?????

Express Man, racers like yourself never retire they some how find a way to stay in racing one way or another. Lord knows racers always need help. It"s good to see a racer helping another.

I said most racers that race there don't race anywhere else. If they don't or can't run the track...Give someone else a chance! Its called for the Good of the sport! Absolutley not condecending Marion Center or its staff in any way! Remember this Racers spend everything they have and give thier life to a sport that will land them in the poor house. Promoters are in the sport to make money! i get that! And at Marion center...that has been a family run track for 53 years. I was at the opening race by the way! So they are in a way bettter money postion than other track promoters lIke Dan Savino and Joe Padula. If health or other matters are restricting your operation...Lease it out someone that wants to run more than 4 months to start with. They allready lost 1/4 of thier season. I will compare my records with yours any day of the week ..Ryan! When you get 42 years in this business..then we will start comparing. I haven't raced in three years. I may never race again. But atleast I had a career and a prime! You have done nothing but stumble around the back for the last couple years in Junk equipment! Drop back to a division that you can compete in! Stop making a fool out of yourself on and off the track on these message boards!

Who is Ryan ? Did you loose something on the backstretch at Latrobe when you caused the big one ? It is a family track ! Maybe they don't want to lease it ... I am sure their financials are not up to what you say they are ...

Honestly...I wish all racers and promoters the best of luck! Its all a tough job. The only thing I lost on the backstretch at Latrobe was a lot of money. As far as causing the "Big One" I have a very nice vidio tape of that event that clearly shows who was at fault. All ancient history that doesn't matter at this point. But if you ever want to see that tape...your welcome to it. That was actually one of three "Big Ones" at Latrobe that I had. Still my all time favorite track. Well maybe Jennerstown when it was dirt! Hope to see some racing this weekend!

Latrobe has had more than 1 big one ! Anyone remember Harley Chuba's crash ?
I believe the crash you are talking about was at Motordrome in 1972. It happened right in front of me. Ben Miley ended up stopped sideways (passenger side facing the oncoming cars), right past the flagstand, and Chuba piled into Miley at full speed.
