Another fork into Lernerville's late model car counts.

Don't think it will hurt Lernerville much as too long a tow for most of them!!   Likely to effect Dog Hollow more than Lernerville!!

It might not be affecting the late model car count at Lernerville but it will be affecting the fan count. I know a handful of my friends have been going to Thunder Mountain a lot this year because of all these big Races they are having in car counts.

The only cars that it may pull on a semi regular basis, IMO, are Lux and Pegher. Norris isn't going snywhere and i doubt any of the mid packers would go anywhere else either. Maybe Ferree would run there on a more consistent basis but I can't see him not racing lernerville any less then he currently does.

It's great to see a track consistently trying to raise their payouts. Regular shows have basically been the same $ for decades.
They make a concerted effort to get a show in, good food, great pay and crowd size seems to be picking up.

My comment on Lernerville's car count in explaining it. Racers that do not have there track tire are not going to spend the money when they can tow to thunder mtn and race possibly with tires in there trailer and for a higher pay out. The 10 car, Alex, there going to be chasing $$$. I will say it a second time. That track tire because they are the only ones running it, they are going to shoot themselves with that deal.

If this track would go to Saturdays they would get a big turn out. What track is running Supers on Saturday locally? None at this time.

Blose used to run Lernerville, until the tire rule. I do understand that he lives near there.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Oh, I don't know if he's still running. I just know based on last year's results.

The track that pays the purse will win!  Dog Hollow had 5 latemodels last Friday..Granted ..Bad weather and Big race at thunder mt!  if you pay the purse...you get the cars.  If you get the cars...you get the fans.  Simple as that!   The current promoter mentality is we will have 10 divisions of junk and that will raise the pit gate!  Only the parents...sisters....brothers...and neighbors want to watch that stuff. The real fans want to see the top divisions.  i can't see how any track can stay in business without headliners!  Congratulations to Thunder Mt.  They get it!  And if they did move to Saturday night with that payoff in that area...It would definiatley kill at least one Saturday night track

The pittsburgh region is dead, there really aren't any cars TM gets on friday that they wouldn't get sat, but the cars they don't get from up north already obviously won't come down and skip Stateline. Who would run there sat, half of the 8 ppms cars? Last year Eck and Dorman started making the trip regurlarly but that's it from the stateline/eriez region which kind of surprises me. Also a side note, two tracks doing things on a smaller division scale but getting rave reviews are Thunder Mountain and McKean county. Both tracks are leased by the managers which is kind of interesting IMO. What other area tracks are leased?

Isnt lernerville's purse the same? I could of swore they paid 1400 to win as well. And talking about blouse he quit going to lernerville because of the tire rule but was still running Hoosier tires. But it also doesn't help the late model division when you have so many classes of late models

Kudos to Thunder Mountain. That's a nice purse that is comparable to Lernerville. I don't think it will affect the counts at Lernerville much. I agree the tire deal keeps people away from there. Late Models are in trouble. It started happening 10 years ago in the south. Locally several tracks have already dropped the division. This will continue to happen if the class chooses to not support them. I am a fan and hate to see it, but the class needs the track much more than the other way around. The costs of the new chassis maybe the nail in the coffin for all local LM racing I'm sorry to say.

The semi late class there is a pretty good deal. Basically an economod motor and similar shocks. You can into that class with a used roller and motor for around $8,000 to $12,000 depending on how much you want to spend.
