Texan Aaron Reutzel (87) had little trouble figuring out Lernerville tonight, as he was both fast qualifier and feature winner with the All-Stars, from the 2nd starting spot.  He bested a 36-car field, and finished comfortably ahead of Tim Shaffer (49) (from 8th), Parker Price-Miller (4) (from 10th), Carson Macedo (3G), Chad Kemenah (10H) (from 11th), Jac Haudenschild (3), Dave Blaney (70) who started on the pole, Paul McMahan (13), Brock Zearfoss (3Z), and John Garvin Jr.  Heat winners were Tim Shaffer, Dave Blaney, Carson Macedo, and Paul McMahan.  The B-Main was won by Brandon Spithaler (22) ahead of Dan Shetler (7KS), A.J. Flick (2), and Sye Lynch (2L), who all transferred to the A-Main.

 

 

There were 13 Rush Sprints tonight, with Gale Ruth Jr. (1C) taking home the victory over Zach Morrow (27), Joe McEwen (9J), Brandon Hawkins (27H), Shawn Smith (36), Scott Hawkins (37), Steve Penley (21), Dalton Daniels (23), Arnie Kent (18), Dave Hawkins (27D), and Steven Cousins (56).  Tyler Powell (35) and Darin Gallagher (12) failed to start the feature.  Heat races were won by Gale Ruth Jr. and Dalton Daniels.

 

There were 14 305 Sprints Cars in the pits tonight.  Heat races were won by Roger Irvine (12) and Jonathan Jones (12J).

Sure the weather was iffy at best, but being on the card with the All Stars is probably going to be the biggest crowd they are going to race in front of.  Why now race and be seen in front of a large crowd for your sponsors?

Brad hasn't ran his yet, was running the ecobomod on and off with his brother till the motor blew. Powell's is junked. Ruhlman was late to the party. Who knows, again it's all blowing smoke until you see a fire. She's bot going to come on here and say we've got 25 people who are committed and running with us... but only 16 are race ready. Also, Walt, do you score Pro mods or economods for emod Cavalcade points?

Is there any 305 peoples out there that can build a 305 motor for 7000 or less ? Or are those 305 allot more ?

I count the Econo Mods and Pro Mods with the "Limited Modifieds" just as the E-Mods.  However, last year was the first year I have done such.  But since those classes have grown quite a bit in the past several years, I decided to add them.

Walt, I have read a few of your quotes on the 305 racesavers, you don't seem to be a fan.

Their racing is fine. However French Grimes seemed to want to be a little dictator, running his kingdom and never working with anyone else.  He seems to be pretty well out of the picture now, so maybe things will improve.  Since there are no local weekly tracks for the Racesaver cars now, they are not much of a factor in western PA racing.  Just a handful of races at Lernerville, Dog Hollow & Bedford.

OK the class has been around for less than a year!
They are already getting a better car count than the Lernerville Super Late Models !

When the top 4 of the go kart motor, full size sprints go on tour full time you can fairly compare car counts to a division that has graduated that many.

How many former Lernerville SLM regulars are active in pro tours? How many crate sprint drivers have left to go pro. When those numbers are the same or there are more crate sprint drivers on tour it's an even comparison.

What do you expect, The crate engine Sprint Car series in only four races old!!!    The 410 Sprints, "super" Late Models and big block Modifieds are the premier three classes of dirt track racing and anything else is just a "support class" of some kind. Drivers start out in those support classes, move to the top three and then if they are good enough and have the needed bucks or connections, they can maybe make it to a "pro tour".  And if really good, maybe NASCAR or Indy car!!!  No need to compare any of the support classes to the "big three!!   When I first started going to races there was only ONE class at the weekely tracks, the old coupes,  and from there an occasional driver made it to NASCAR or Indy!!

I suggest Vicki shouldn't be bragging about having over 20 cars in this division when they have not even come close yet. The season is a third over already so where are all these cars at?

Any class with only 20 cars will seldom get much more than 15 at any given race.  Broke race cars, work schedules, family conflicts and many other things will always keep some from making any given show.  Dog Hollow only had five Late Models back a week or two!!  And every week I see tracks with 10 or less cars in some classes!!   It is just the way things are nowadays!!   RUSH may have 20 cars registered, but probably  there are several that haven't got their car ready yet or maybe even run out of money before they got the car ready. And the car counts at the first four RUSH races have all be above the weekly averages for 305 Sprints at both Mercer and Thunder Mountain last year.
