NO ENTRY FEE - No Sanction...
Hopefully this and the $15,000 show at the end of the year are successful so that our locals can continue to have big paying races for which to compete...

Car counts have been disappointing at most big Late Model races this year!!! Like only 27 for the Sharon Lucas race and 15 at Pittsburgh for the Herb Scott Memorial. This is a Late Model "cost" problem, not a track problem!! And crate engine car counts have not been good at some weekly tracks either.
GOOD RACING TO ALL

I would certainly hope that as many Late Model teams and fans that can make it, show their support to the Padula's for putting on this significant level of a (local) show. With a $35,000 late model purse on the line and given the number of drivers from this geographic region that could be available from Port Royal, Hagerstown, Selingsgrove, Winchester, Dog Hollow, etc. there should be 35 teams participating. In days gone by this show would have attracted 50+ cars. The full purse is listed on the Bedford Speedway website...highlights include 4th $2,000; 10th $1,000 15th $800 and $600 to start.
can't ask for anything better than that. 600 to start.......wow!!!

39 cars not bad. How was the fan turn out, was the support there?

48 Sprint Cars at Mercer last night says pretty much the same thing!!! Many locals in both classes don't want to run against the full time "professionals" and their high buck cars!!!
GOOD RACING TO ALL

Bedford is very well located to get a good field of Late Models, being between the Western PA and Central PA/Hagerstown/Winchester area, with no other Friday night tracks racing Late Models anywhere near. Of course, the purse was also very nice, good top pay, and good pay to start. Glad to hear the track was suitable for passing, at least for part of the race. There may not have been any touring professionals, although the winner, Austin Hubbard, used to be one, but there were plenty of high buck cars in the field.
