Its not the travel distance, it is the fact that most don't have the money in their cars, mostly engine, to compete at that level!! Western PA has not been a good paying circuit for Sprint Cars. The more tracks pay to win, the more $$$ guys will put in their car and the faster they will go.
GOOD RACING!!!

tony after talking with one that works with a sprint and one who raced a late model local tracks they both said the late model with all the tech a late model would cost more, but again this is local tracks. Haulers not added. Maybe someone can give more into it. Hope this helps.

Jim!!!!! Yes, we all remember Tim Shaffer's win at Knoxville!!! However, he didn't do it with a car that was running weekly at Lernerville & Mercer!! Nothing wrong with our drivers, it is just that the guys running locally don't have the kind of money in their cars to come even close to making the show at Knoxville!!!
GOOD RACING!!!

I believe this topic first started out as guys being there this year? Not about guys being there in years past that probably shouldn't have been. Yes some locals have gone, a few did well enough to be noticed, but for most, nobody knew they were there.

Too bad you went all that distance and none of the locals were there.
