Anyone know what brought Rusty Schlenk to Lernerville Friday? Decided to skip the Dirt Million in favor of some track time at Lernerville??? He had a good car and I thought he may have had something for Norris on that late restart. Too bad about the flat tire.

I get what youre trying, but he just ran 10th at one of the biggest races ever. Kinda kills your point, dont it?One could say he learned from Max Blair about skipping Big Show's running locally

He was referring to Rusty Schlenk running the UMP Summer Nationals, called the Hell Tour because they run 28 races in about 32 days, 17 races in Illinois, with the other 11 in Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan, Kentucky and Ohio.

That is the ultimate race fan's vacation. I highly recommend that all race fans sometime in their lifetime pick a week or two of the Summernantionals and go out there and check out some Illinois race tracks. FALS, Jacksonville, Macon, Tri-State (Indiana), and Fayette County are some of the best tracks in the country. It's pretty incredible being able to attend 7 different racetracks in 7 days.

Bucket list for first year of retirement is to watch the entire tour. Modifieds also have a tour that shares some of the dates.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.
