It's been discussed, ideas have been thrown around and teams have been calling expressing their interest in wanting to do this, even sponsors have committed to come along and see this new series come to fruition. It truly is exciting to see just how quickly this has all come together.

The initial meeting for this series will be September 23rd, Sunday at 2:00 PM at the FASTRAK Office. If you are a little late in getting there, no worries as the first part of the meeting will be a simple meet and greet for everyone to get to know one another. "Personally I think thats one of the bigger parts of this" said Stan Lester. "We are dealing with parents children here and we all have to get on the same page right from the beginning".

The meeting will be held by Stan Lester - Founder, DJ Irvine - General Manager and Regional Tech Director - Shane Haynes. There will be a Q & A session, rules suggestions session and if time allows possibly a social media training session as well. "We don't want to keep everyone there all day stated DJ Irvine, "but we do want to make sure everyone is prepared when we leave there".

Time: 2:00 PM (meeting will start at 2:00)
Date: September 23rd
Location: FASTRAK Corporate Office: 8077 Royston Road, Carnesville GA 30521.
(park in lot behind building - back door will be open)

Please bring enough chairs for people in your party just in case since we really have no idea how many people might show up.
Please have a list of questions prepared so hopefully we can get you out of there by 6 at the latest.

Not another damn division to thin the field even thinner.

I don't know much about what the plan is here but what I do know is that its to build the field not "thin the field"

from what I understand it is just for teenagers with no experience in big cars---a transition from karts to cars if you will

we have alot of kids that are aged out of the popular miniwedges that are now faced with racing flat karts or racing nothing

we also have kids racing flat karts that are ready to move up but nothing to move into

there is no percentage of this that would be filling late model fields---but hopefully the interest is retained in these kids through participation and our future late model fields will have car count partially due to "another damn division"

I know there is way more interest than I would have ever believed when I first heard of it---let's just see where it goes before condemning the idea

I think it's actually a great idea as long as there are rules in place to keep the costs down. It would help a younger generation transition into racing big cars and help keep the sport alive.

Well I for one say it makes good sense. The question I have is how do you control the costs. Sure crate late models were the answer huh. You have guys pulling into the pits with haulers that have 2 new xr-1 or longhorns inside. You have to stop the spending on the exotic equipment. How that will be accomplished ? Good luck.

the engine ---shocks and tires were a no brainer going into this and I had no question as to what the vision would be there ---but my question was the same as jo73

what about exotic chassis technology?

a couple of people that have their thumb on this have contacted me with some insight.

they have contacted the major chassis manufacturers and asked for information on identifying "old school chassis"

not  saying that dinosaurs are going to be mandated but the XR1 type technology will be exempt from competition

my understanding is that the chassis companies are very receptive to helping with the concept for multiple reasons but at the top of the list will be the hope that the next generation will keep racing alive

Last I read they were thinking about making a rule of what year chassis could be ran.

i'm not surprised the chassis manufacturers are on board. They'll make plenty of money doing updates.
