Maybe, but a lot less, if at all.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

A lot of gluttons for punishment. The Firecracker doesnt need to go away and Im sure the relationship with DirtCar shouldnt make it difficult to bring back the Working Man.

Who wants an autograph?

I would hope that if they do they run the sprints and mods before the crate stuff.  If I would have to endure a crate feature to see either the sprints or mods it would be less likely that I would go.

anyone with a brain knows the crate late racing at lernerville is top shelf, usaully the best race of the night hands down. they would come from alot of areas. now, after saying that, if they allowed 1300's we would come down alot in the supers......closer than thunder mountain, and think brandon would get around lernerville pretty good. their loss.

Im a race fan Id go to Lenerville to watch anything race. Its a top notch facility and Im willing to do my part to keep the place open regardless of what they race. If you turn your nose up at crate racing like many do then all that says is your completely out of touch with the current state of dirt racing. Super late model racing is on its death bed locally its soon to be a touring series only class. A turn key top notch car is over 100k for gods sake. Besides what the hell makes the difference how much power the engine make to the fans. Ive seen awesome door to door photo finish 4cylinder racing. Its racing and if your a race fan then support the racers period end of story........

It's called a race, don't you go to watch fast?  Every class has racing as a part of the game but in every class it's about fast not the racing.  Those two four cylinders you watched wouldn't have been as exciting if they were the two last place slow cars, would they?  You two should go watch kart racing if you want to see close racing.  Racing is about learning your craft.  Fast is about what's being raced.

Walt isn't your annual poll more about who's got the good fast stuff to race rather then the racer?  Isn't your poll more about who's the big spender getting in at ground level then anything else?  I think it is.  It caters to dollars way over the driver.  Sure it must happen sometimes that the bigger buck racers don't win your poll, but doesn't your poll mainly show what new driver anti's up the most cash each year above anything else?

I don't take a "poll", I award "points" to those who earn them!!    Money has always been involved in the sport and there is nothing either of us can do about such!!!

lernerville slows down, and the crates would be faster at times than the supers.......then your whole theory is blown away.....i want to see a race, not how fast a guy can lap the field....

weinerdog and 94.3 are true race fans.  The best races I have seen have been in karting.  Those clowns that just want to see crazy expensive cars get spread out and run laps are morons.  Go watch drag racing if all you care about is speed.

I would prefer that the Super Late Models remain at Lernerville, although with the fields they got this year on regular race nights, the races were not too interesting, and everyone knew who was going to win.  I will be at Lernerville almost every Friday night, regardless of what they race.

Are people really saying they’d prefer watching 9 SLM and Norris destroying them every week versus 20ish Crate LM with competitive racing throughout the field? Odd to me. I can’t see hundreds of fans not coming back for that reason.

94.3 is correct- the Crates will be as fast as the top 5 SLM on that track. Obviously not touching Norris times but I guarantee the fastest Crate is as fast as the 3-5 SLM. Happens at PPMS when SLM ran weekly and that is a much bigger track.

With the obvious ties to Rush I’d be shocked if Crate LM were not there weekly in 2019.

I'm not a big fan of crates but there are many reasons why there were more lates and more fans in attendance to watch them..the main reason IMO is that 10 years ago you could still buy a used car for 5 grand, put in a decent motor and still have half a chance for under 20 grand..that brought more teams and more fans to watch them.

the cost of everything stockcar racing has gotten so far out of hand that now the same 20 g's barely gets you a decent Penn Ohio Prostock..

Actually, as one who is almost always at PPMS, the attendance decline started way before the last models were dropped as a weekly division.  Once again, I would prefer the Supers were still there every Saturday night, but they were getting less than 10 cars for many shows, and since Mike Norris was not a regular the last several years, only Jared Miley or Alex Ferree was going to win every week.  The Crates there now have very strong car counts, and the racing week in and week out is first-rate.
