Just heard Lou Gentile passed away. He was almost unbeatable in his 6 cylinder.

RIP Louie the Wheel. My first recollection of him was when he drove a car at Sharon "Shake Rattle and Run" on the side.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

He first worked for Bud Moore, then DW, Parsons, and many others. My best memory of Lou (besides what he accomplished in the Emig #1) was him driving that screaming, smoking, red oxide primer '63 Chevy (#3) at Sharon on the quarter mile. If I'm not mistaken he held the track record for a time- 13.95 I think. Then there was the US-1 Chevelle with the wing.
