Tim Shaffer wins the opener at Bubba, nuff said and congratulations

I remember not being able to leave Hickory on a Saturday night until Tim Shaffer reported in on the pay phone at Hickory about how he did on the road.  Those were fun fan times.

It definitely helps when you practice there before the race that week.

Tim won over 200 gs in prize money last year
A great season by his standards and won very early last year too
WTG Champ
He also operates a GOKart track at his house on Wednesday nights near the Pittsburgh airport
So if you want to race a world class champion Sprint Car driver
Get yourself a cart and a case of beer for after and take a shot to beat him !

Just like all the other teams that are Bubba's did this week.
Don't see what the big deal is....

Ya
Tim has funded allot of his career out of his own pocket and his mother laid her whole financial life on the line years ago ( and that is a hero story in itself !!) to get him there and most of the time is not a big money team
So if he has extra funding for testing then look out !!
Go get em !

I don't think practice helped Tim win the next 2 races, after all 23 cars participated Wed. Probably was more to shake the car down not to get the winning setup, He is always fast at Bubba.

Believe he got a 4th place night 3 but he was fast as previous nights but almost got in a wreck about 3 times and had to save that car ... and what a car that one is !
Another point about Tim success is that he drives to the shop and helps build these cars he is driving and was never a guy who just shows up and jumps in .
