In picture perfect weather before the largest crowd of the year to date, there were 15 Super Late Models, 17 Sprint Cars, 15 BB Modifieds, and 15 Pro Stocks.  Was great to be back at the speedway. Track was in great shape, and the surface was racy from top to bottom.  A-Main results as follows:

Half of those people got in free from Peoples Gas. There is always a large crowd on hand for fireworks. I guess giving the Sprint car drivers one free pass didn't increase the car counts I see. Thanks for the results flash49.

I guess the free pass didn't make much difference but I think they should get some credit for doing SOMETHING. I'm sure plenty of other track owners would take the position of saying if you don't like what we pay go race somewhere else. That's not good for anyone. To me, offering a free pass sends a message to the racers that the track understands that there is a problem and they want to work with the racers. Is a free pass going to fix the problem? No, of course not but I like the fact that they put something out there.

Five locals were at the All Star show at Outlaw Speedway in upstate New York, Brandon Spithaler (22), George Hobaugh Jr., (40) John Garvin Jr., (J4), Michael Bauer (46),  Dan Shetler (29), and occasional runner, Jared Zimbardi (35). however, none of them finished better than 14th.  Only twenty-three (23) cars were there.  Brock Zearfoss (70)  took the win over Cory Eliason (26), Dave Blaney (98H), Gerard McIntyre Jr., (07) and Danny Varin (00).

 Flash.......and I didn't see two of the main protesters go to either Outlaw Speedway or Attica!!!   We will see how they do tomorrow at PPMS!!   And by the way, notice that the Sprints outnumbered both the Late Models and Modifieds!!  Still not back to Lernerville standards, but slightly better than the other two classes and the Stocks as well.

Just to be clear Peoples Natural Gas was the one who paid for the free passes. The track did not pay for them.

realgear I have to agree with you for the most part, but the tracks also should some blame. Meaning  payouts and some of the rules but not all the rules. Coast is by far is a factor. A family member got out of racing for that reason. Like someone said it coast to race. You"r right it is a shame, but I do have faith there is a future in our sport.

With the exception of Stateline and Eriez, Late Model counts above 13 have been rare so far this year!!

PMS has been a dying track since the Mileys bought it, and probably before that, which would be why the Mileys bought it.

if i was a promoter, i'd be doing something to bring them down. north/south challenge. there is no junk at all at those tracks. now you got freedom, hidden valley, latrobe......opening more tracks was not needed. everybody has 1300' up here........i'd be talking to dirt, and try setting  something up.......the name just does not pull cars anymore.

Back in the day many of the "Northern" late models supported Lernerville as did many drivers from Western Pa.
Then came WRG and their UMP dictatorship rules and fees.....

I'm convinced some people will complain no matter what. As a fan last night the racing was excellent my family enjoyed themselves and that's what is important to me. I see both sides of the argument with car counts and all that but would you rather have 10 cars and a good night of racing or no racing at all cause if all people do is complain online turning people off all together to coming that's what is gonna happen.
