To all our great Race Fans, Drivers and Team Owners. Over the last 48 hours, we have been dealing with several issues pertaining to Dog Hollow Speedway. After a recent track inspection through our insurance company, the insurance company has made a decision that until major repairs or replacement of the front stretch wall and catch fence are made no special events will be held. This unfortunately led to the cancellation of the July 3rd and 4th ULMS Speedweeks Hell Tour events. We have been given a provisional permit to race our regular Saturday Night races as long as we make the temporary repairs required. The rest of the inspection went very well and we will always continue to put safety first for our Fans and Drivers.

thank you for being upfront about the situation. I know it would go a long way with a lot of people. Good luck and hopefully you guys can get everything straightened out to race again.

Do you think all of these negative comments benefit the track or racing community ? They made an effort to clear the rumors and endorse their weekly customer base. Let their own words stand on their own merit and quit whining like some pampered fat bitch in divorce court. Or perhaps if you really were concerned you might see what you could do to help the track succeed !

Rubber checks and safety issues! Good way to endorse your weekly car counts.
All of a sudden this is an issue? Shouldn't there have been some sort of inspection before the season?
I don't want to see another track close but they are cutting their own throat.

Who in their right mind would help this track succeed? I mean the track record it has with bad checks racing til 4am etc. No one with the money to help is going to step up..

According to multiple sources, the track has been hurting for awhile. Dan has been bouncing drivers checks for a couple years now, and thats why less and less cars go there. Its a known fact- ask any driver. Someone even involved a lawyer last year to get payment. The latest problem was not that Dan pulled out from the ULMS commitments of two races in the ULMS "Hell Week" or his made up story about insurance, its been said in numerous places on Facebook and by word of mouth, that the promoter of the ULMS told Dan he wouldn't be coming because of Dan bouncing a check from the previous ULMS race to the series for the entire payout. If he is so far in debt on the track, why continue? We all don't want to see another track close, but why bury yourself? And all the people who believe that "insurance problems" was the real reason are pretty gullible! I am sure people have questioned his Facebook posts, but he deletes all negative comments. Says there is 22 on one, yet you see 4? How is that to run a business? Fans/Drivers should be able to voice their opinion and ask questions. Why hide the real reason and make up a story?

Yeah, honesty works a whole lot better than getting caught lying. Look, if you can't afford to run the track, let people know. If the drivers are willing to run with payouts being questionable up front, so be it, and some just might. Those that aren't will be even less likely after feeling like they were taken advantage of.
My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

We would like to clarify some statements pertaining to the cancellation of the ULMS Speedweeks Hell Tour races as well as answer a few of the questions that have been brought up in this forum. Why we are able to run a Regular Event and not a Special Event is easy to answer. All you have to do is look at what happened this past weekend at Atomic Speedway in Ohio as a result of a Sprint Car going through a high quality catch fence. Several people were injured and were taken to the hospital. With a threshold that is created in a field of 24 to 30 Super Late Models or Sprint Cars to be ran during a Special Event increases the chance of an accident to occur. The catch fence and front stretch wall at DHS has been an issue for the past several years. In 2016, we were shut down for 2 weeks to make repairs were made designated by the insurance company. Those repairs included the catch fence, front stretch wall, a few electrical issues and a couple of other minor issues that were repaired according to the insurance companies requirements.
Now to answer a couple statements that have been brought up on this message board. The comment pertaining to inspections being conducted at the beginning of the year is false and misinformed. An inspection seldom ever occurs at the beginning of the season. Over the past 6 years, there has not been an inspection before June of that year.
The comment about a lawyer being involved in a payout dispute has never happened and is completely and totally false. Also, pertaining to the ULMS race that was held at DHS a few weeks ago. Every participant in that event has been paid.
To anyone who has commented both positively and negatively, you are more than welcome to come to come to the track and have a tour the facility so you can see all the work that has and continues to occur. My name and number is always available to anyone who wishes to contact me. I do not hide behind a fake identity. I will not get into a back and fourth type conversation. However, this is one of the biggest problems in the Motorsports community today with negativity. Anyone who makes pure asinine comments who don’t know the full extent of a situation is no benefit for local racing in general. Especially on social media and online forums such as this. I suggest that others should try to volunteer at their local racing facility’s to help them instead of taking to the internet to create negative comments.

I'm a fan of this guy now. At least he comes on here and addresses comments that people have made to debunked if they are false.

Part of the problem sparkler, you don't know who is telling stories. But, your 100% correct, I give the guy credit for trying to clear the air. I guess we will see what happens in the coming months.

I agree Jo. No other promoter will ever come clean and set things straight. They just hide and let the rumors grow.
