The only thing I could think of is there is some kind of "lucky dog rule" in which he gets laps back on yellows.  But he still should go to the tail behind any cars with only one lap down.  Regardless, it was a fantastic race!!   The whole program was good.

I thought of that, but, I think only the last car on the lead lap gets a lap back, and Schaltenbrand quickly moved forward after those later cautions, so he would no longer be the last car on the lead lap.  Obviously, I'm not sure how that works, lol. It was a very exciting race for sure.

Yes, Schaltenbrand was at least 2 or 3 laps down, I'd like to know the story there but yes, great night at the track. Ferree and Flinner on the last lap of the SLM feature alone was worth the price of admission.

I think it's 4 strikes for the whole night--heats and features. That may have changed under the Thomsons though.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Its three cautions for the night total, then you're done.

all I can say is if they can duplicate last night every single Friday night I might come back a lot more. Surface was awesome and so was the racing. I understand they did a little bit of intermission due to the lack of time since everything went so quick in the heat races.

Were there 3 cautions between laps 12 and 23, and then no cautions after lap 23? That would give Kenny 3 laps, if he was the highest running lapped car, and none to anyone who went laps down after lap 23, without any favoritism.

I'm pretty sure that is the consequence of the, "transponders are god, even when they're clearly wrong, and we fired all of our scorers," mentality.

The rules clearly state that the first car 1 lap down will be given a lap back under caution. So you guys must be wrong that the 29 was 3 laps down.

But at the first caution after Schaltenbrand returned to the track he was three laps down, and there were other cars that had already been lapped that were only one lap down.  So one of those cars should have gotten the lucky dog.  Schaltenbrand and Pegher Jr. got together on lap 9, at which point the #29 left the track, and didn't come back out on the track until the next caution on lap 12.

I absolutely agree! Go back to lining the lapped cars as they were running. I'm even okay with what the Risches implemented, putting the lappers in the back on restarts with 5 or less to go. The ABS Scoring may not be able to handle that though, and there's no capacity for humanly checking the transponders or overriding them WHEN they are wrong.
