They need some major track prep help over there. They are trying to go out of their way to be fan friendly with give aways and stuff but none of that is going to matter if they can't get a track in some sort of shape that allows them to get the races done in a decent manner. 9:50 AMD heats are not over yet.

They ran hot laps and crate late heats then watered track. Pure stock, E Mod and Pro Stock heats and 4 cylinder flipped digging into track. The dust in turns improved after watering but briefly and then back to what it was. 16 Fastrack Lates, 7 Mods, 9 Pro Stocks, 18 Pure Stocks, 17 cylinders.

Sounds like we need some race track missionaries to help them out.  And the missionaries don't even have to leave the country.  May not even have to leave the county.

Left at 10:30 and they still hadn't finished heats. Where trying to fix some ruts by using a skid loader and bringing lose dirt from off the track and putting it in the holes.

left at 1:00.  still not done with pro stock feature and had 4 cyl to go yet.  Problem I had is they spent hours messing with a track that was not prepped right at start of races and then put time limits on their 2 feature events.  Crate lates and special $1000  to win pure stock didn't even go half way!!!  This was after the first 4 cyl heat took over an hour with wrecks, track prep/intermission/line up problems.  How can they justify that to the fans and race teams.  On the bright side....when they raced, it was good.  I enjoyed it.  cars were good and crowd was large.  If I heard correct,  they are having another pure stock vent next week with $1500 to win.  better check those facts it was tough hearing the announcer.

Anyone know why the 51 car (Benton) left the track in the pure stock feature???

Perhaps a cheeseburger in his mouth would be better

Howie is a joke of an announcer, all he can do is scream into the mic. apparently someone who lives close to the track was bitching on their fb page saying she could hear his big mouth in her living room.

Every place Howie works at seems to fail. I am sure he is a nice guy but the track record seems to speak for itself. Jennerstown (last time it was open), Thunder Valley, Roaring Knob, Latrobe 15 yrs ago and now present day Latrobe, might be missing some place. Calling new drivers up to the press box to give an interview to kill time isnt wonderful. I cant imagine Kyle Lukon wants to walk up there and talk with that mess going on. The track prep needs to be there from the start not be done as night gets going.

I was in the first heat of the 4 cylinders. I started closer to the back took the lead and blew a tire. I watched the four cylinder flip and have it on my gopro. There was 4 cars out of 8 in my heat that blew a right front and 1 rolled

But also I loved the track sure it was rough ..its a dirt track it happens at times we all had to race on the same track . Latrobe could have cancelled bc the track was rough and then everyone would have complained for weeks bc they did. At least they tried to fix it unfortunately it didn't work.

coming from someone who races on the surface, how is the track usually?  was this an unusually rough night or is it typically rough?

You people are unbelievable! Really? Howie has a lot of knowledge of local racing, yes hes a little loud on the mike. But maybe someone should have given him a little heads up?! And to insinuate that he had anything to do with any tracks downfall is absurd!
