TERRY WHEELER JR. CAPTURES VICTORY IN HOMAK PENN OHIO PRO STOCK SERIES “CREW CHIEF” RACE!  SERIES WILL RETURN TO RACING ACTION ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 9 AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY!

For Immediate Release

August 6, 2019 (Sandy Lake, PA) During a break from Series racing action, the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series sponsored a “Crew Chief” race at Sharon Speedway on Saturday, August 3rd.  The fun race gave crew members an opportunity to strap in a stock car and experience racing as a driver.

Crew Chief of his dad, Terry’s # 2W and brother, Leigh’s # 717 machines, Terry Wheeler Jr. enjoyed racing the 2W to victory lane and picking up the $100 Homak Penn Ohio check and donated alcohol.

Out of 11 drivers signed up to participate, 7 made an appearance in the 8 lap event.  Jon Davis, son of Paul Davis driver of #3 pro stock, led the field to green.  Wheeler Jr. would take an early lead in his dad’s Slider Race Car and despite two restarts would hold on to the top spot.  Davis secured the runner up spot until lap 7.  Scott Hooks, brother of Shaun Hooks and crew member of the #65 race team, and Bobby Crisman, crew member of the Randy Wyant owned #11T, made passing moves on Davis and would finish in the 2nd and 3rd positions behind Wheeler Jr.  Davis came home in 4th followed by Mike Hilla, driving the Jimmy Fosnaught #20J.  Sixth place finisher was Daniel Diegelman, crew member of the Darr Diegelman #15*.   Rounding out the field was female driver, Stevie Harry in the Curt Bish owned #00.

After a two-week lull, the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series powered by Can-Am will head to Thunder Mountain Speedway located in Brookville, PA for a $1,500 to-win, $200 to start point race on Friday, August 9th.  Pro Stock drivers will have an opportunity to qualify for heat race starting position.  The main feature event will be 25 laps; and if 35+ pro stocks are on hand, a non-qualifier B Feature will pay $250 to win.

The Penn Ohio Series will be charging a $35 registration fee for all drivers participating in the August 9th event.  All drivers will be eligible for a Hoosier tire donated by Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic/Precise Racing and an American Racer tire donated by Lias Tire.  2019 Homak Penn Ohio Series’ powered by Can-Am registered members will be eligible for additional contingency prizes donated by various sponsors including a wheel donated by SS Chassis & Supply, a case of oil donated by Les Frickshun, Trick Shot Penetrating Lubricant donated by STAAR Lubricants, racing product donated by Precise Racing and Dirt Defender LLC, gift certificates donated by Close Racing Supply, Joe Willcox Performance Automatics, ARbodies, Ultra Shield Race Products, Wedge Motorsports, Big Daddy’s Speed Center, and Precise Racing Products.

Pro stock drivers can join the Series and reap the benefits all season – a $15,000 point fund with $3,000 going to the point champion, over $13,000-$15,000 in contingency prizes given away at Penn Ohio events, and over $20,000 in driver prizes given away at the banquet.  The cost to join is $200 and forms are available online at -http://www.pennohioprostocks.com/2019%20REGISTRATION.pdf.
