The steelers young quarterback with poorly developed emotional skills should be set out by the League at least two games for starting the ignert fight.

Good for him getting hit in the head while attacking for the second time the same player now defending himself again, who this time was being constrained by one of his team mates.  The whole incident is totally on the Steelers young lacking of emotional skills quarterback.  Throw the young bum out for at least two games.

edit:  Only expressing an opinion and don't really care if the NFL does anything or not because football for me is just something else on TV that I watch when I feel nothing better is on.  I think they are not dumb football players and it takes a lot between the eyebrows besides size etc. to play the game well.

But Butt the young quarter back out for at least a couple of games.

I'd have to think about it and ask a lot of football questions on here in an effort to first learn the game.  :)

By the way NFL football and NBA basket ball are a show no different then racing or a Broadway play.

The result of last nights show will be about how ever they think the ratings will go or how they can use it to manipulate ratings and profit.

Was a late hit to start with... Plus they had already knocked 2 other guys out with concussions (one bleeding from his ears).. suspension was definitely warranted and then some

ds2 i know you are trying to start a controversy and pocking the bear, but Football is a violent sport and that crap last night was over the edge. Garrett is a Thug with a helmet and pads. He lets his emotions get out of control. He is gone for the rest of the season and playoffs. I think he should use his time off and try the UFC. They make good money smashing someones face, can"t use a helmet but elbows and knees are ok.

The player/driver mentality is no different then in racing.

The more armor you give the driver/player the more there apt to use it for intimidation or as a weapon.

In this case the high tech helmets intended for protection have become a weapon.  Players know and i'm sure their high cost/salaries also causes them to be schooled in all aspects of their high tech helmets, that they know if used straight on for a glancing blow the opponent will be damaged or intimidated.

Ds2. Let's talk why a sprint car motor is so much different than a SLM motor ? They both make enough HP. They both can have as much torque as you want with a simple cam change. So are the motors today builder specific ? Can the seller pull the injection off and say this motor came from a slm ? The chevy ford difference is obvious. Does the buyer really understand what he may be buying ?

As for the football hit, it's a brutal game. Men that play on that level are beasts. If he would have hit Rudolph with the crown of that helmet. Things could have been disastrous. Move on.

"They both make enough HP. They both can have as much torque as you want"

Sprint car engines do not make enough power.  If they did the number one problem I was told by a builder and asked if I could come up with a fix would not exist.

The problem I was told is the one thing he could not fix is when Joe Hot Shoe keeps his foot to the floor in a turn when the track has so much grip the engine is loosing rpm.

I told that to a driver and the instant reply I got was the builder needs to find more hp so Joe Hot Shoe's car doesn't loose rpm while his foot is to the floor.

"Does the buyer really understand what he may be buying ?"

If I could afford to buy either a new top shelf Sprint Car engine or Super Late engine, because of the cost i'd sure understand before purchase.

The truth is though an engine builder no matter what the cost or customers ability to pay only needs to provide an engine capable of being used per the skill of the team.  And as far as quality goes with expected scheduled rebuild times, the engine also only needs to be of enough quality to make it to the next rebuild.  Buying a race engine is the finest example of "buyer Beware" you can find.

Go Browns !   :)

By the way Jo I was asked by the engine builder to find a solution to the problem in post #12 after presenting to him a potential solution to Sprint Car engine bleed off's and pop off's.  He thought my idea could work but in the end it was not necessary because he could do all what was needed with current fuel control devices.  By the way the only reason for pop off's and bleed offs is because there is no existing mechanical invention able to convert and increase in rpm into linear movement without the use of unreliable springs.  You don't want to have the performance and longevity of a $50,000 engine depend on spring tension.

The rolamite is the only new mechanical invention of the 20th century.  When I get my invention patented it will be the only new mechanical invention of the 21st century.  Come up with a way to reliably convert and increase in rpm into lateral motion and you will come up with the second new mechanical invention of the 21st century.  :)

this is fun

How Stuff Works ?

All I do is throw my thoughts out there because I have the time to do it and I enjoy writing.

I don't mind being wrong if readers would please explain the parts that are wrong or thought wrong.

We might all learn something from it.  I know when shown error in what I write I sure go out on the web looking for better understanding.

Help !   Though I try to be truthful and thoughtful I sure don't think for a moment what I write(spew and BS if you like) is 100% correct.

Truthful, thoughtful, courteous, etc., sure don't always lead to being correct.  Help !

ds2 don"t sweat it man. If people don"t like what you write that"s their problem. As for the most part i just shake my head and times i just laugh.  Some people on here need to lighten up and have fun with it. LIFE is to damn short to be serious all the time.
