COVID-19 PANDEMIC CANCELS "BATTLE OF THE BAY" SPEEDWEEK; PACE RUSH LATE MODEL TOUR EVENTS TO POTENTIALLY BE ADDED LATER IN 2020 AT DELAWARE, GEORGETOWN, POTOMAC & WINCHESTER

By Mike Leone

April 1, 2020              FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)...With stay at home orders and gathering bans in effect throughout the entire Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Canada through at least the end of April due to the COVID-19 pandemic, RUSH Racing Series Directors along with the promoters of Delaware International, Georgetown, Potomac, and Winchester Speedways have cancelled the "Battle of the Bay" Mid-Atlantic Speedweek scheduled for April 15-18 for the Pace Performance RUSH Dirt Late Model Series together with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC.  RUSH Directors and track promoters will work together on potential 2020 Touring Series dates at each track for later in the year.

"Everyone was really looking forward to the 'Battle of the Bay' kicking off our season but right now the focus is on everyone's health and safety," expressed RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  "The first two years of the 'Battle of the Bay' were tremendous with car counts ranging from 40-53 at all seven completed events.  The 'Raelyn Huffman Memorial' added a lot of stature to the Delaware race last year and the other promoters all increased their show's payoff.  We were looking for even more forward momentum this year as many new racers were planning on taking part.  The promoters have shown an interest in rescheduling Tour shows for later in the year so we'll be working with them in the coming weeks to see how we can best coordinate these for everyone's benefit."

The RUSH Late Model Touring Series next scheduled events are Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17 at Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY and Eriez Speedway in Erie, PA.  Stay tuned for further updates on these events in May.

RUSH Racing Series is brought to you by Pace Performance together with Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC along with the support of Hoosier Tire, Bilstein Shocks, Sunoco Race Fuels, Bazell Race Fuels, Insinger Performance, MSD Performance, Holley Performance Products, Hovis Auto & Truck Supply, Equipment Rental Options, FK Rod Ends, Wehrs Machine & Racing Products, Schoenfeld Headers, Jones Racing Products, TBM Brakes, Performance Bodies & Parts, Racing Electronics, Dirt Defender, Wrisco Industries, Frankland Racing Supply, Landrum Performance Spring, Ontime Body & Graphic, Trailer-Alarms.com, Zarin Truck & Automotive, Sherwood Wheels, Alternative Power Sources, Precise Racing Products, Lincoln Electric, Velocita-USA, Accu-Force Dynos & Testers, Classic Ink USA, CrateInsider.com, and Wedge Motorsports.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they HAVE to buy products from those sponsors.  I think the only thing they mandate is who you get your motors from or rebuilt by.

what the hell, you girl's on your period, or what? why do you give a shit? if ya'll hate it, don't comment, their choice isn't hurting you guys. 50 plus cars at those events, you really have nothing to say. the guys running up front make a good chunk of money, and continue in crates, or you put your cheerleader outfits on and cheer them on as slm drivers. then their ok? please, they have grown more slm talent than any class. it takes time to get funds for super late models, and rush pays guys great money, and they move up. Blair,  Pegher, angelico,  Martin,  Robertson, carpenter's, wonderling's, volpe, Lyon's, wright, and now Wilson joining this year, all raced crates. they are the stars now. you fool's want racing to die, or you could do something other than bitching on here.

Guys, if you don’t like what RUSH is doing, take your marbles and go home and play with yourselves.
This series is what makes “ America Great Again “. It gives you a choice.

Five o'clock somewhere, apparently. No way to make heads or tails out of this rubbish other than this jabroni seems to be implying that there was never a choice for budget racers until Vikki Emig created RUSH. Okay, got it.

I have no opinion on his self flagellation fantasy involving marbles. I guess he's just some kind of a freak.

Drivers and race teams made there choice about Budget racing they sent the cost way out of control. Maybe it was lack at the tech shed or constantly letting rule's change and new parts and chassis fabrication to where it got so far out of hand that the average racer can not afford it anymore (racers are just victims of there own power)....

Yeah, like you never negatively comment on subjects within this forum that needn't concern you, right? I must have poor reading comprehension.

The rest of this drivel is white noise. All the pandering you've done on behalf of crate racing, and most fans pay more attention (and money) to the Penn Ohio series. Tough break.

You mean the Penn Ohio that pays like 200 bucks for 5th place? The Penn Ohio that is pretty much wide open rules? The Penn Ohio where a guy like Andrew Gordon is spending 20 or 30 thousand to go race for 1000 bucks? Yes Penn Ohio is really the best thing since sliced bread. You have made it blatantly obvious you do not like crate racing, ok we get it great! But to bitch about crate racing and then turn around and side the Penn Ohio is what most fans pay attention to just shows you are clearly old and as delusional as Davy Lee.
