Anyone making the ride up for the first race of the year? I see Selinsgrove is opening up next weekend. Hopefully this is a start to get back racing.

From Facebook:

With the constant change in the weather so far this morning and it constantly going from a 20-50% chance of heavy storms it isn’t fair of us to ask these drivers who we know are towing over 3-4 hours today to get half way here just to be turned around. So today’s race has been canceled.

Opening night will now be May 10th classes will be
Super Late Models $1500 to win $150 to start
Crate Late Models
Emod’s
Chargers
4 Cyl

Hilarious that according to their Facebook page, Roaring Knob has people excited to come down and take in the F-You Governor Wolf show from all areas of the northeast. Saw a guy say he planned on coming down from Southern NY, LiveDirtUpdates are doing live Tweets from the track, someone asked if they were doing a live stream...and they got 6 Super Late Models.

Those poor people coming from far and wide were so excited to see some racing and had zero idea that they were getting the Rick Jones Experience.

Heard the police try to shut them down until Rick Jones whipped out the waivers in paper work. Either a neighbor or another track called the police to try to shut them down. They were provided a phone number from the complaintent.

I miss racing too, but I would sooner drive to Pevely Missouri in all this than go to Roaring Knob.

My deepest sympathies to people who only saw that there was in track in Pennsylvania called Roaring Knob and it was racing today and knew nothing beyond that.

It's a area nobody has touched apon. I wonder if fire companies would take the chance to be present ? Remember, many need grant money to have the equipment needed. Many promotors let them have some type of stand to make a few bucks or a good 50/50. I don't see this guy being either.

That wasnt exactly a priority of his before the current circumstances, I cant imagine it would be now. Everyone is chomping at the bit wanting to race and he drew like 30 cars between 5 divisions. That should tell you how people feel about that guy

Nobody got fined last night.
Wait and see if they race this weekend. I'm sure that will settle all the rumors.

It was 20. Where do you people get All this fake news from? Haha

Rick Jones made in announcement tonight on Facebook and that was the number. No fines. Racing this Saturday night same divisions as Sunday night. Glad to see a track be back in action.

Worst possible track promoter to receive any goodwill and attention right now.

I see the Youghiogheny River Lake southeast of the track.

If you live down by there is the Muskie fishing good?

Looks great the boat ramp is half way up the long lake and probably a day trip would be taken up either going towards the dam or away from the dam.

If you fish there for Muskie would time spent be better heading away from the dam or towards the dam?

thanks
