Kudos to the staff and crew at Latrobe Speedway.  From a fans point of view they started on time; in the features the track appeared super fast; the racing was excellent from green to checkered, and the food was excellent.  They kept the program moving and we all got home at a decent hour.

Glad to hear something positive about them running a normal show. Hopefully this keeps up I even might make the trip out there. Who is the announcer?

As I mentioned-I was only giving the viewpoint of a spectator, not a driver.  Howie Ballis is the announcer but you can't hear him at all.

Can somebody explain to me what is going on with the track conditions there? I see the ultimate late model series pulled all their dates due to track conditions.

yeah, they are just clueless as to how to prep a track. they think dumping a ton of water on it is all you do.they need to find some one with experience.the penn/ohio series wrecked a bunch of cars in the feature saturday.

They piled up about six or seven cars in turn four. With only one wrecker it took about 45 minutes to clear it up. They do have some track prep issues.

Saw a picture of the hole in turn 1.  It's pretty damn bad.  Maybe if they keep losing dates , they'll finally fix it.  They are supposed to have a couple crate tour races too I think.  Their schedule doesn't show much.

Sounds like I'll just save my trip from going out and seeing this chaos in person.

Yeah, if someone dead centered it, it looked like a sand storm. They have some issues but they are trying hard. Hopefully they get the track prep fixed because it's a fast layout.

I know that thing was hairy to hit 2 weeks ago when I was there.  From what I'm reading and hearing, it was even worse on Saturday.  Gonna be ugly.  Rumor was that they were trying to get sprints there, if so, someone is probably gonna get hurt or killed.

I'd love to see 410's there, but I'd have real reservations about sitting in turn four.

It seems to me the track wall is lower than most plus, their stands are relatively close to the track. The fence isn't horrible, but I can't see it stopping a 410 leaving the track at the speeds they would turn their.

They cancelled the 305 sprint show that was to be July 4th.
