On the final lap of the opening night of the 14th annual Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA driver Max Blair piloting the 111 machine turned Brandon Sheppard in the final turn after being passed on the backstretch. Sheppard would end up finishing in the 22nd spot. I'm curious what your thoughts are on the situation considering Blair admitted to turning Sheppard in the final corner before leading the final two laps to his third WOO victory.

What are your thoughts?

That one was actually on Sheppard.

He clearly had the fastest car on the track for the last 10 or so laps and had it won and would have if he just driven it through 3-4 and not worried about Blair, but for some reason he got cute and tried to keep pace with the slower Dennis Erb car to his outside to serve as a pick. Now would Ricky Weiss or Lanigan have gone ahead and punted Shepp out of the way in that spot to win a 6,000 preliminary race? Probably not, but when its a local going for what would be a big win for him, getting punted on a move like that shouldnt have been a surprise.

Sheppard was going to make sure he wasn't going to slide up the track and give max the bottom. Racing deal, as Max said I didn't expect him to slow down that much. In the seat I can easily understand what he is saying.

You're a moron. You'll be alright with that type of racing until it costs you money. Typical LM mentality.

I agree with Abe that it is on BShep. BShep caught the inside berm flexing the nose of the car and kicking up dirt which caused him to slow down and Max got into him.  Racing deal. Great way to open Firecracker Weekend.

I find it absolutely hilarious how his following will defend him to no end. Blair admitted in his interview that it was his fault! My god you sound like Bubba Wallace after the FBI confirmed that the knot was not a noose "No, it's a noose, it's  a noose." Sheppard had the line and Blair wanted it. Open your eyes and listen to what your driver admitted to. America really has hit peak stupid.

OP asked for thoughts on the situation, educated thoughts, not blind comments because you like or dislike a driver. In this case, Blair is at fault in my opinion. It was the final turn before the checkered and he followed Sheppard in low. You can't pass someone if they are directly in front of you. Blair was driving hard and simply got into the back of him. In no way am I saying it was intentional, but it was Blairs fault. Birm or no birm.

Now if you have a different opinion from me, I welcome that with educated conversation. Don't just say it wasn't Blairs fault like a snowflake in November 2016 unable to accept a fact that their driver openly admitted after he got out of the car that he was at fault. Back up your thoughts!

At the end of the day does anybody's opinion really matter anyway.. Blair wanted that line and he was entitled to it just like everyone in America is entitled now a days to what ever.

Funny, did any of you hear what max said ? I got into him and I apologize, I will be going over to talk with mark and brandon. He flat out mentioned the support he receives from rocket. Get over yourselves. It was hard racing nothing more.

if you're in this division, and cost you money? I'm low buck, and we have been dumped by better and lesser drivers....we have hit a few. if you're worried about money, you dust off a spot in the Ville's bleacher's like your old ass, sit, and then talk like a 'big' man when a car get's touched. shit happens at 100 mph, just pay your 20 bucks and enjoy...

I'm not a BShep fan nor am I a Max Blair fan.

I pose these questions to all you intelligent folk.

Was Max supposed to cut hard right and give up 2nd place to avoid contacting BShep? Was Max supposed to stab the brakes and let Cade Dillard pass him on the outside? If BShep doesn't hit the berm and slow up are we even talking about this? If you were driving Max's car and had a shot to win do you do the same thing?

Sure Max is going to say he got into him and feels bad about it, they run Rocket cars and need to maintain a good relationship. Sure BShep's going to be mad he missed out on $6k and got $600 instead and lost points.

Just because someone has an opinion different than yours doesn't make them wrong and doesn't make them a fan of the driver they defend.

If you don't want opinions don't ask what people's take is.
