The BRP Big Block Modifieds (32 in the pits) are at Lernerville this evening, running a 35-lap A-Main, paying $2K to the winner.  In addition, the 410 Sprints (24 cars), 305 Sprints (19 cars), and the Pro Stocks (23 cars) are on the racing card.  New York hot shoe, Erick Rudolph, won the BRP A-Main in grand fashion tonight.  Starting in the 10th slot, he was up to 3rd by a lap 7 caution, and restarted in 19th position.  Working his way methodically through the pack, he passed then leader, Rex King Sr., (who had led the entire race) on lap 33, and went on to win by 2.500 seconds.  Michael Bauer won his first-ever 410 A-Main at Lernerville, beating Dan Kuriger to the line by 2.017 seconds.  In the Pro Stock A-Main, third starting Tyler Dietz took the checkered flag .812 seconds ahead of 9th starting Daryl Charlier.  The final race of the evening, the Allegheny 305 A-Main, went to 3rd starting Greg Dobrosky, who crossed the finish line 3.170 seconds ahead of 5th starting Jake Gomola.  Results as follows:

What a drive by Rudolph. And congratulations to Michael Bauer on his first Lernerville win. He was hooked up.

Anyone believe in Karma.  Rudolf was gonna win the race from lap 1. JMO But.... Got spun out early by 83 (looked like a racing deal) and had to go to the rear.  Allowed a pretty big crowd to see one of the finest runs I've seen against as very good field and win the race when the leader got pinned in lapped traffic with 3 to go.  The leader (65) being one of the better traffic pilots in the region.   Was nice to see Chad Brachman back.  Had over 30 BB's.  very enjoyable race !!!

I think Rudolph is a better natural talent, although he's crude on the bullrings. I like Williamson but he's never raced sketchy equipment and he seems to be a hot head at times where Rudolph is a pretty cool customer.

I was surprised Brachman didn't run better, especially since the track was more to the style that the NY drivers are used to. I think he might have been running a SB. I also have to mention Paul Kot is the 7 car. That guy is a natural in a race car. I wish he'd run it weekly. He looked like he'd been driving it for years last night.

Rudolph is equally as successful running TQ midgets on the indoor tracks, which is a completely different kind of racing.

Brachmann said in an interview in AARN from Canandaigua, from the night before Lernerville, that he is working hard to learn the switch from torsion bars to coils.  As he was quoted, "it's a whole lot more involved."  So Lernerville and Tyler were most likely R&D for him with the new technology.

As the article pointed out, some might be surprised to know that his full time occupation is a farmer.

You look like you've been driving one for years. Guys that drove fendered cars and have jumped into a Modified for the first time have told me the body roll takes some getting used to. You look comfortable in it. Good luck this weekend.
