Tri-City Raceway Park is announcing the line-up for one the biggest race weekends of the year in Northwest PA: Applefest Weekend.  This year it will take place on September 18-20 ( Friday-Sunday).  Tri-City owner Merle Black has put over $80,000 in purse money on the line for the weekend. Leading the way will be the Shawgo Real Estate Sprint Cars.  This race will pay $5,000 to win and $400 to start, making it the richest non sanctioned event in Western PA this year.  With no others scheduled sprint races on Saturday and Sunday in the area a great field of cars is expected for this event. Joining them will be the Big Block Modifieds, 358 Modifieds, Pro-Stocks, Wingless Crate Sprints, Crate Modifieds and the 4 Your Car Connection Mini Stocks.  The Big Block Modifieds and 358 Modifieds will be racing for $4,000 to win in each division!!  Returning to Tri-City Raceway Park will be the ever fan favorite "Getto South Party" with live entertainment. This 7 division show will have a different format than normal with practice for all divisions along with heat races for the Crate Modifieds and Mini Stocks on Friday Night.  Saturday will include time trials and heat races for the sprints along with heat races for the big block modifieds, 358 modifieds, wingless sprints, and pro-stocks.  Sunday will be "B" Mains and the Feature events for all 7 divisions.  Ticket prices and more information about this event will be coming in the near future.  We are currently looking for sponsors for this event.  All money collected will be going directly to the drivers in contingencies or purse money.  If you are interested in being a sponsor for the evening please contact the track.

With good weather the place should be packed. The mod guys in new York, after basically having there season cut short, may overrun the place.

Somebody needs to post this stuff to all of your socials too. Utilize twitter, theres more people there than you realize. You guys are doing a lot of things great but your online presence has been less than desirable and youre leaving a lot on the table by not using it to your advantage.

Hot Dog,thanks for your help spreading the news about the upcoming event.

They are aware of the issue with public relations when it comes to the website, twitter, etc.

The personnel that was responsible for the media and "online presence" resigned their position in the middle of the season.  Kind of left them high and dry.

Someone was gracious enough to step up and help, but does not have the time to dedicate to it that it requires (This will all be addressed during the off season).

In the meantime, there will be a press release on their facebook when all the details about this event are ironed out.

Who left??   I am no longer connected with Tr-City as at age 81 I didn't want to make the trip up every week.  Once a month was great for me to stay involved,  but weekly was more than i wanted!!
