New Owners Mark McClellan and Kyle Smith Sr. at RFR Motorsports plan to run Weekly Friday night at Dog Hollow. Super Late Models, RUSH Late Models, Stock Cars, and 4-cylinders are planned for weekly racing. Super Late Models will pay $1,300 to win weekly! In the press release it is said they have put on 250 tri-axle loads of new clay on the surface. The RFR team hope to run shows in the 3 to 3 1/2 hour to "get fans out on a decent hour".

Fridays...
Lernerville, Bedford, Thunder Mountain and Dog Hollow all competing for super lates again.
Are the area promoters seeing a large influx of super lates happening in 2021??

I know that's a rhetorical question. These people need to start thinking outside the box or start paying well throughout the field if they want to attract any kind of SLM numbers. Hell, a $3k to $5k to win "special" is lucky to draw 18-20 cars anymore. I expect one or more of these tracks to consistently draw single digit fields unless they benefit from other tracks cancelling.

Dog Hollow would have been better off trying a "Steel Block" rule or something similar. A rules package that lets the old Steel Blocks from up in that area run with the 358 Late Model Sportsman to the east.

I bet one of these tracks does not make it through the whole season if they all want to compete on a Friday night.

At the minimum, one of them won't make it through the year with SLM's.

My guess is that DHS won't run Saturdays because Marion Center is supposed to re open. Too many tracks, not enough cars to go around. It's been that way for many years now.

Looks like three and three to me...Friday Lernerville....Dog...Thunder Mountain.  Saturday   Marion.. Hummingbird...Clearfield  These tracks will effect each other!  I doubt Bedford or Latrobe or Pittsburgh...or Knob  will enter in to it!  Will be interesting to see.  My bet is new broom sweeps Clean.  I think Marion and Dog will prevail.  As will Lernerville.  Thunder Mountain...Clearfield and Hummingbird all have sketchy history of being open for as many consecutive years as Dog...Marion..and Lernerville!

Dog Hollow has had quite a few sketchy years that have left a very bad taste in drivers and fans mouth.
Marion Center sans the patriarch Dave Potts went to heck in a hurry.
Hummingbird and Thunder Mountain have excelled leaps and bounds the last five or so years and have made many major improvements to both their facilities and programs.
Plus they actually work together for the betterment of both tracks, drivers and fans.

How many have thought they had a plan in place at Marion center only to say nope couldn't work out the details. Last I heard, the pott's still want the concession dollars. I will believe that when it happens. As for the rest of them, they all seem to be satisfied with what they have. Lernerville wants to live off the banner, Don Martin's lernerville speedway, thunder mtn. along with hummingbird have been making yearly improvements and are running classes that guys can afford. Latrobe is trying question is if Marion center reopens what will that do to there field? Mercer is another track trying to keep the gates open.

My question is. How would western pa benefit from what speedway's that would lock the gates ?

PPMS, everyone knows the Miley's are not investing a dime in the place, run your red miley, herb scott, pittsburgher and have the penn ohio guys come in for the support class and the Laboon memorial
Latrobe, they just don't have the funds to do what is needed today
Mercer, run a specials only schedule.
Dog Hollow, Marion Center only going to thin the fields if they do reopen

Lernerville program has been great past few yrs. With a new GM that has background in racing hopefully He can make a lot of improvements.

I wish these folks that bought DHS well, but they have a steep hill to climb. Same for whoever bought or is trying to buy MCS. The difference is that Marion Center has a broad and loyal fan base. But, it needs an infusion of cash same as DHS.

So are they leasing it or did they actually buy it?

You probably know as much as me, lol. Savino thought he had an agreement in place. That fell through. Then there was someone after him that was rumored to have bought it outright or, who had an agreement in principle to have bought it. That was the last I heard and that was several months ago.

Ok so what's the big secret. You would think they would want to get the word out asap.
