Your statement lacks logic as you state crate racing is all about who has the most money yet you will sing the praises of the Penn Ohio. It has been well established you do not like anything crate racing related. Let me ask you this Joey, when was the last time you went to a Penn Ohio race? Believe me it is as you say who has the most money there also. Andrew Gordon would roll in with a huge stacker and nascar technologies to race for $1000 to win. Yet all you crate haters must think that is acceptable? If you could actually not be biased your opinions would hold water. You're also the same guy who tried to say you didn't like crates because they weren't fast enough.

I sing the praises for the penn ohio series because it is the only form of true grass roots racing left in the area. No, I did not make it up last year, when I do I used to see some of the best racing of the night at lernerville and stayed to the end. That was until the takeover group moved in. Ok so Gordon has a stacker. Why, your guess is as good as mine, maybe in a couple years they plan on moving up. Don't know, don't care. I have said many times the crate late models put on a good show, but they have become so out of touch with reality. It's far from a cheap class to get involved in. There entry fee's at there higher paying shows doesn't allow for the guys with older equipment to even get in the show. Sure you have the X driver that has the experience and doesn't have to have that new xr-1 or longhorn to get up there and run with the SLM clone. Or maybe the guys that buy 3 crate motors then get them blueprinted to see which one can make 10 more HP and then they sell off the other 2 at this great discount. Tell me that doesn't happen. It started out as one class, which was fine, and has become a takeover. It's happening because somebody is making lots of money. It's not for the love of the sport and they care. If it's so great why doesn't guys like Kenny schultenbrand, boy I screwed his name up, drop a crate motor in. Or racin Ralphie Spithaler drop 1 in his sprinter. There driving talent are going to make them immediate winners. Enjoy watching the takeover roll into PPMS, the crates put on a good show, that place is so screwed up nobody would give much thought if they let the weeds take over.

Yea because if you start racers in a class they can afford by building the motor, Trans and 9" rear. Hang a body. Then maybe after time they can move up to another division. Personally, I think promotors need to start pushing 358 racing. Again, #1 for the reasons I just mentioned #2 it has to start somewhere by someone. Crate racing is all about who has the most money. New xr-1, lite weight rears, numerous motors on a dyno to see which one has that slight advantage. These aero bodies have no place in crate racing. Cut the ears off the noses, eliminate any shock out there that comes in pcs and you have to assemble to meet that particular track. No more dished interior sheet metal, flat from the air cleaner back to a spoiler height of ?? Inches. Blah, a waste of time. Promotors are there worst self made enemies.

I've been building  crate lates for 8 years now and I'm not sure your evaluation is totally correct : lets see the things that really cost unnecessary money and things that don't .....

a 9 inch vs. a quick change ....I've had both and a quick change is the better value, gears are 65 a set verses 450/500 .....lower HP motors are as easy on a QC as a 9in. and changing gears at the track makes alot of sense for me as there's usually me and one other guy .....having double adjustable shocks isn't a bad deal considering a fixed rate shock will make for 9 or 10 shocks purchased for track conditions and having the correct shocks for track conditions makes for better handling cars for everyone and that means less carnage and repair costs  for everyone .....I guess I'm old school cause I have a brake and make all my own bodies and deck so I like being creative in getting the only thing that's free in racing and that's AIR .... and air makes traction .....

here's what I think is to costly .......crate motors   ....gotta pay some shop to freshin them when I can do a motor refresh myself ...the motors are junk in my opinion vs. a 350  type engine rule similar to thunder mountain/hummingbird/hidden valley (with a couple of adjustments) and the biggest advantage is being able to repair them in the shop without the foolish seal thing (which makes "official" rebuilders a ton of money)

"official fuel" is kinda plain to see where the money goes there ( I ran a 355 flat top motor on ultra pump gas with octane booster years ago with as good results as race fuel at half the cost then )

"official tires " same .....

A good 358/361 semi-late class is everything as good/affordable as crate racing and keeps money in my pocket on a weekly basis with maintenance costs down cause I can adjust valves with "good" springs .....ya see guys changing crate springs as soon as every 3 races .....had a friend who needed to change a bent push rod on his crate and cost a bunch of unnecessary money to go to the "official rebuilder" for a push rod !!

this of course is just my opinion ..... but crate motors are big business for promoters/suppliers/engine shops .....they love em ......it's the money trail thing .....

The biggest shame today is alot of these young guys are losing the art of the build in racing .....it's all a pay and play thing with them ......I got interested many years ago cause of the individual talent I saw in every car that was shop built from chassis to engine ........I started there and tried to gain all the knowledge I could .....now it's getting to be lost as everything changes .... maybe the interest will make a come back ....always hopeful

He was being a dic* as it states right on PPMS website they are using Penn Ohio rules in 2021. Might want to fact check before you go off on a tangent.

Yeah ok, dad. Other than how it would have affected the guys that have run there for years and supported that dump, I could care less. Maybe Miley was actually smart enough to see what happened at Lernerville. Several teams permanently sold out. They added a few new teams. Cars that raced elsewhere couldn't race there. Dumbest damn thing they ever did. Racing would be much healthier around here if track owners would figure out they don't need Vikki Emig run their race tracks.

Vicki how does it feel to be the worst thing to happen in recent years to local racing? You should be ashamed to show your face to the public after letting that slum at PPMS dictate who gets to be a part of Pelosi/Harris Racing Series. Poor pure stock class next year everyone has to look like an 80's Monte Carlo. Not even the fans want to see that, but that's a product of getting involved in something you have no clue what you're doing. What about the cars that run Mustang, Challenger, or Camaro bodies?
One thing about Stan Lester doesn't discriminate like you do, or stab people in the back in like you've done in the past

Here's a novel idea....
Quit going to tracks that support Rush and handing them your $$$!
Hell I quit going to PPMS since the Hav-Tampa race back in the 90's when PPMS drug it out damn near 12 hours and I have not been back to Lernerville and will not go back until WRG/WoO is shown the gate.
I know my few $$$ means nothing to them, but I refuse to spend my $$$$ at tracks that could give a $hit about the fans and drivers.

Could I ask what tracks you support that care about the drivers and fans? If you don't go to tracks that have anything to do with World Racing group or Rush, your options are pretty limited. Hummingbird, Latrobe, Hidden Valley, Roaring Knob, Cumberland, Path Valley, Selinsgrove, BAPS are some of the few I can think of.

Raceway 7, PPMS, Dog Hollow, Stateline, Eriez, Sharon all have some RUSH in some way.   Thunder Mountain, Williams Grove, Port Royal, & Lincoln all have WRG affiliated show.

Add Latrobe to tracks he can't support because they got a Late Model Tour date for October 8th.

Pretty simple really....
There's a whole lot more to the racing world than Western Pa, Rush, and WoO/WRG.

Yeah, I know. I live in Delaware and 3 tracks I regularly attend Georgetown, Delaware International and Bridgeport all 3 either have rush or WRG events. The 3 major tracks in central PA Port Royal, Lincoln, and Williams Grove have WRG shows. Attica does to the west as well. I guess you could be going to Fremont and Atomic.

I'm not alright with WRG being involved with Lernerville either, but their weekly program is still the best in the area by far, so I'll deal. What I will no longer support is the Firecracker or the Stampede. I could deal with her involvement with the Stampede when they ran her trash after the regular four divisions ran first, but now it appears she wants her classes featured more predominantly in the running order, so that event can just eff off. The track usually bites for that show anyway. Not a huge LM fan, so missing the Firecracker because they added crates is no great loss. Thunder Mountain has increasingly taken advantage of that Friday date, so I happily go there that Friday

I'm a Sprint Car fan, so dealing with WRG is a necessary evil if I want to see WoO Sprint Cars. It is what it is.

Skull, consider going east when the all stars show up. Mixed in with the pa guys, because more show up at the all star shows than when the woo rolls in, I see some of the best sprint car action anywhere. The icing on the cake is when the 69k runs the woo leader down. The fans at the grove go absolutely crazy.

Absolutely. Some of the best racing in the country in my humble opinion. The thing about Port Royal is, they also have great SLM racing, they get great fields. Another thing is you'll never be held hostage as they generally have no more than three classes running on a regular night. Best race track in Pa.

Kind of surprised to see the All Stars on the Lernerville schedule this year.

For a fairgrounds track, port royal, the board has put a lot of money in the place. The thing that has impressed me the most is tracks raising there purses in central pa and also bringing the big block mods in for some nice paying shows. In doing so I think you'll see some stellar fields at tracks that have up'd there pay outs.
