Just read on Facebook that Marion Center has offically been purchased, and that racing will return to the track in May.  They will be another Saturday night track.

All dependent on what classes they decide to run. I think they should try to unite with one of the other tracks and look at Sunday night.

The track itself has always been pretty racy, so I think it will do fine. Hopefully more $$$ will be spread around for drivers, depending on what type of track you like to race on, and I think there's some smaller specials coming too...   Best of luck to all...

I have mixed emotions.  Love the track, Loved going there to watch as a kid, and want to race there at some point because that's where my Dad and Pap raced.  However, like others have mentioned it's going to be tough for 3 tracks to survive on Saturday.  I wish it was possible to support them all.  I guess time will tell, but I don't look for all 3 tracks to survive if they're all fighting for the same night and the same classes.

Hummingbird and Marion Center always seemed like they had a group of drivers that was pretty loyal to their track. With Marion Center being shut down a couple years will all of them comeback? Don't forget about Latrobe either.

They always ran a Limited Late Model Division at Marion Center, even before the advent of Crate Late Models.  Historically, I believe they were 358 Steel Block Late Models, similar to what they run at Thunder Mountain and Hummingbird.  Cheyenne Reed comes to mind as a driver who was pretty competitive in that division.

They have been running the open motor steel block lates for quite awhile before they closed.
They would be best if they went with the current 358 rules Thunder Mountain and Hummingbird are using as that seems to be a quickly growing division.

I haven't actually ever heard of her. Does she still race? I've rarely seen 358 late models where I'm at, but anytime I have, it's been good racing.

The September 29, 2018 Season Opener at Marion Center Speedway has been postponed until some time after February 2021.  Stay tuned for all the details. At least Marion Center has a better chance of opening than Hickory and Greater Pittsburgh. Some talk that it may be part of a three track circuit with Sportsmans and Ebensburg  running on  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with Monday of the following week as a rain date option.

I could only hope that this class would be realized as a viable class option to the crate late .....if tracks could all agree to the same rules/run this as a support class..... it would kill the crate thing ....save car owners money and provide better racing entertainment to the spectators .....watching this class at thunder mountain/hummingbird/hidden valley shows good support with car count simple rules and gives the racer a choice as to tires/fuel/eneing building options .........I'm not a big fan of all the contingency awards .... I say race for good payout and forget the parts awards deal ....which ain't all that good a deal........Just my opinion

She is a he!  And I've seen his name infrequently the last few years.

Oops, sorry, no offense intended. Never heard of that for a male. I'm surprised I haven't heard the name. Guess I'm out of the loop.
