Katterheinrich Grabs Make-Up Feature, Hicks gets the regular show, Henry Repeats and Horstman gets another Checkered flag at Waynesfield On a comfortable night that saw four features fire off quick enough to get everyone back on the road by 9:30; the speedway would like to thank all of the fans that came out this week for both the Speedweek show and this Saturday evening First up for the night would be the Trucks feature that was rain delayed from the previous week. With five laps in the books and Jessica Nuss leading the field to the green flag it would be four laps later that the yellow flag would be displayed for an air filter assembly that came undone from a truck in turn four. Jessica would still be leading over Luke Katterheinrich and Mick Hicks. Two laps later though Luke would be able to take the top spot when Jessica Nuss had a flat left rear tire and had to go pitside. On the fourteenth lap the 43 of Dan Crowder stopped in turn two and then suffered contact with Danny Kelly and Daryl Brackney both of them with nowhere to go. The top-four saw Luke Katterheinrich in first followed by Mick Hicks, Nathan Mailhot, and Eric Sutter. The top-five then took a little bit of change when point leader Bill Harman got by for fourth as the white flag was flown to finish up behind third place Eric Sutter, runner up Mick Hicks, and winner Luke Katterheinrich. “It was a little rough up top and I used that to my advantage.” “I want to thank the guys at Waynesfield for the much improved track, this is a great track and there was no dust whatsoever.” “I need to thank my Lord Savior Jesus Christ and my sponsors CO Welding and Midwest Metal Fabricators”, said the driver of the Charlie Moore owner machine. Next up for the evening would be the Mini-Sprints and taking the heat race checkered flags were Hud Horton, Rod Henning, and Jared Horstman. Feature time came and right off the bat it would be Jared Horstman and Hud Horton taking the top two spots slicing through the field as they were heading towards the end of the twenty lap feature. Just before the Devon Dobie machine caught fire on the eleventh lap Hud had caught up to Jared getting through the traffic better but was now even closer to his rear bumper due to the caution. Chris Smalley, Rod Henning, and Kory Crabtree rounded out the top-five. On the restart the 26 of Rod Henning was able to get by the 4 of Chris Smalley for third but no one had anything for Jared Horstman as he legged out a big lead over Hud Horton, Rod Henning and Chris Smalley. Second feature of this evenings activities would be our Modified division who had now raced twice in the week at Waynesfield. Picking up preliminary wins would be Mike Holbein and Josh Scott. Taking the early lead in the feature was Tuesday winner Jon Henry hoping to further extend his points lead and grab another $600 that the winner gets out of the overall purse. Just a few laps into the feature Brian Post while running in the top-five started to smoke heavily but there wasn’t a problem so he continued, at least for a little bit. Five laps in the Post motivator finally gave up the ghost on the front stretch and when the 47 of Jeremy Grover spun the yellow came out. Jon Henry was maintaining his lead over Chris Ullery, Kelly Bowlby, Josh Scott, and Ed Hounshell. One lap later the caution would fly again for the door panel of Donnie Miller that was heavily damaged in a heat race incident after it was carefully placed in turn one. After the green was put back out a five car battle ensued for fifth on back giving the leaders the chance they needed to check out from the rest of the field. At the halfway mark Jon Henry was still leading, but the 112 of Chris Ullery was catching up with third place a full straightaway back. In the end of the twenty lap feature Jon Henry was simply too much for the rest of the field and Chris Ullery picked up second, and first time runner this season Ed Hounshell grabbing third. “I ran the bottom tonight because it was just a little choppy in the middle.” “They might have put a little too much moisture in the track but it was lightening fast tonight and smooth on the bottom.” “I need to thank my Dad for this opportunity and sponsors William H Bass Trucking and Automated Transport.” Jon was also happy because of his appearance early that morning on Reality Racing TV on the Spike TV channel. Last feature of the evening would be the second feature for the Trucks and they were just as ready as the first time to put a show on for the fans. Randy Crossley with fresh new graphics on the truck would take the early lead in the feature with Bill Harman in tow. Scott Fisher, Jessica Nuss, and Mike Hicks were nose to tail chasing each other for the third spot with Darren Noffsinger closing in fast. With nine laps in the books Danny Kelly and Randy Plaughter got together in turn two with both trucks able to restart and join the field. It was then that the next two laps saw Mike Hicks first pass Bill Harman for second, and then Randy Crossley for the lead. With the Hicks’ machine legging out a big lead the 26 of Jessica Nuss got into the top-five with two laps left only to have her second flat tire of the night end her run on the last lap. Finishing in the top-five were Mike Hicks, Randy Crossley, Bill Harman, Darren Noffsinger, and Scott Fisher. “You know Andy and Cub had their hands full to get that track back around for tonight and I want to thank them for doing the work that was needed.” I really need to thank my family for the help they give me and my sponsors Valvoline and West Side for the help that they give as well. Let's give some respect to "Wild Bill from Spencerville." He came into the night with the truck points lead. He left the track with a finish of 4th and 3rd. An excellent night for that 9c team. Bill always has his head on straight and hardly ever makes a mistake. The truck points championship is gonna be sumthin to watch this season. With Hicks, Harmon, Sutter and all the rest giving 110% each and every week, it will come down to the wire. I've got about the best seat in the house each week and I love the show all you guys put on for the fans. It is pretty neat to watch all of these truck drivers fine tune those trucks and improve the driving skills each week. This is the "entry level class" but There is no such thing as cheap racing!! These truck teams work very hard all week long to keep these trucks costantly improving. Just take a second and look them over closely next time the feature pulls on to the track. All of these racers look great!! These owners and drivers take alot of pride in making those trucks run and look good EVERY WEEK! I have been to alot of dirt tracks over the years and this is the best looking "entry level" class you will see at any dirt track. I hope that you as fans, get the chance to say hi and thank these guys for all of the hard work they do to put a show on for you.

I would like to congradulate Luke on his fine performance. You won't find a smarter and smoother driver in the truck division that Luke....way to go Luke! I would also like to congradulate Mike Hicks yet again. Your hard work is showing in big ways as you pretty well have the field covered. Keep up the good work and congrats!!! I think it's time for me to step down in racing and pass the baton to my son. I want to get his racing career started and hang mine up. It's been a super frustrating year for me and it's just not fun anymore. I don't think that I'll start my son in trucks but I'll find something to race him in. It was really nice racing with all of you and good luck next season and beyond!!!!!

Kenny, Blake, Cub, Andy, & Greg.

do you gentlemen think we could have a meet the drivers & crews night - at the track or some
other appropriate venue?

I'd bet most of the truck guys would have a blast with something like that!!!!

(Gotta love those youngsters that come into the pits, just to meet their heroes!!!!!!)

It's alot of fun to meet the fans....
especially the NEXT generation of them.
Maybe even the next R A C E R S !!!!!!!!

This is the root cause of Why we are HERE!!!! to pass on the tradition to the next
generation of fans and racers, and to have some FUN in the process.

Well we did have a meet the drivers night on the schedule but that was the night that we got a rain delay and it kinda got forgot about. I will try to remember to bring it up in the drivers meeting. If I forget, then somebody should speak up.
