Other than the 4 days at Eldora this year, why do teams not support this race? $25K to win and no ohio, All Stars or central pa guys will support it? Should it be moved to a weekend? Up the purse?

All Star guys arent running because they have 7 races in 10 days starting Friday, and right after that roll right into Knoxville for a few weeks, so theyre doing prep and making sure all of their ducks are in a row for that. Central PA teams have a $5k to win show at Selinsgrove, why travel on a Tuesday when you can do that? Not to mention fuel prices dont really encourage much travel. Between fuel and turnpike fees, its gonna cost $500 for them before the car ever touches the track. Ohio teams dont really travel much these days

Thirty-four cars is a pretty respectable count for a WoO Sprint race.  As for the purse, only 6 events on the entire WoO Schedule (over 100 races) pay more than the Don Martin Memorial.

Who from the posse really travels that much. Lucas in his 5w, Marks, and Dietrich which I was surprised didn't come to lernerville. But he did win Selinsgrove so it worked out well for him. The 24 team closed up. Hefner stayed close to home. In all the years of the outlaw swing you would get a couple cars from central pa but that was about it.

It was a very good race.

A good amount of cars, Christopher Bell there along with all the WoO regulars, at least one car from out east, fast time set by a local, a car goes on its lid bounces off the fence and finishes 10th, what more could you expect or want as a fan?  Use to be usually the only locals in the show were provisionals and that's no longer the case.

What the heck more do you want?

It use to be new want to be national racers would first go to western pa and eastern oh for some quick wins over the locals, on their way up the ladder to either western ohio or out east.

That's not the case anymore because when they come to cherry pick around here there likely to get their butts kicked.

IMHO the race was won by how the Outlaws drove not about setup or equipment, again what more can you want.

IMHO Sheldon going over the berm in 3 was more about how his front end is setup differently then driving.

Heck he proved he could drive getting back up to 10th.

IMHO the only reason our outstanding top qualifier dropped back was because he kept on a line of what was early fast and good enough too long.

I enjoyed the heck out of watching how the WoO front ends were working into 3 and on to turn 4.

The 42 to me looked to have the same thought process of setup if not the same setup, but never switched to use it differently during the race as did front running Outlaws..

I think that's what caused Bell to stall out in forward progress too.

I think the young gentleman Lynch driving the 42 has more then a few WoO and Allstar race wins in his future.

Good, maybe not great but a total fun race to watch for this fan race?

34 cars 8 locals in the feature without any Provisionals, fast time set by a local I think winning the dash and running up front for awhile, stands pretty much packed, what more did you want?

There was so much good racing going on all around the track you couldn't see it all.

The central Pa. cars haven't supported the Silver Cup for years. They used to get about 10 cars from there annually, now they are lucky if 4 show up. These guys run for big weekly purses and points championships out there. I suppose protecting their equipment is part of why they don't come out anymore. Plus this year, there is a tire shortage that I'm sure played a role in it. It was one of the shorter fields I can remember, but the overall quality was there. The track transitioned rapidly just before the halfway point of the feature and a handful of teams read it, the rest missed or didn't quite keep up. It happens. Every now and then you're going to pay $40 and see a run away.

Williams Grove had 33 for the Summer Nationals last night. Another factor with less Central PA teams at Silver Cup is that their are less "pro" teams out there that race every night they can. The days of the hamilton 77, apple 12, harz 88h, weikert 29, dyer 461 are long gone.
