The ULMS $10K to win show and the rest of the racing program at Pennsylvania's Thunder Mountain Speedway were canceled this evening.  Apparently, the cancellation was not from rain, but according to the ULMS Facebook Page, looks like they over-watered the track and the grader got stuck.  I'm sure there will be more information on this later on.

At 2 o'clock the track looked fine.  Why they decided to water and then start grading right before start time is a mystery.  Especially when you could see it raining over the next hill.  ULMS came around and refunded entry fees.  But the track gave us the usual " mail in your wrist band" line.

All they did all day long was grade grade and disk the track up. Not one drop of water was ever laid down on the track till after 330 pretty PM. Then they decided to flood it. There was so much water laying on the track they got the idea to try to grade it off. That caused a ton of mud and the greater could not even get around the corners because there was 3 to 4' of mud underneath it.

I got a first hand account of how poorly run Friday's program was. What's going on up there? I have generally been pretty happy with the shows I've been to there.

Lot to criticize here Skull,  but I thought the ULMS feature was  very good.  above average.  Mostly because the track was racey top to bottom.  I think there is so much car damage because they can race so hard.  People (myself included) don't like dry slick because it doesn't promote passing and movement.  I saw a super race for the lead almost all 40 laps between at times,  5 cars.  Thats what we want!!!  It was just that they did so much messing around.  Why are we TTing 13 pro stocks???  Then they TT the supers not only once,  but again later.  What a waist of time.    What the Hell happened Saturday I can't explain!!  I know the weather radar looked bad and the stands were not that full.  I was there at 5:30 and if the would have started to run it in then they may have been ready by 8 but once that grater got involved who knows.

Wasn't that second time what they called the scramble ?  Top 8 for starting position in the Feature ??

I watched the race on The Cushion, and you are right about the ULMS main event, it was very exciting, but it was 15 minutes past midnight when the checkered flag flew, and the final event of the evening, the 4 Cylinder A-Main, wasn't over until 1:45 AM.

It was.  That place has always had a HORRIBLE time with time management.  Late Model quals done and we still wait ten minutes for the next heat.  No excuse for it.  The fans aren't going anymore because they are sick of sitting around watching absolutely nothing.  I have no clue why they can't figure it out up there.  The track was real racey, even if it killed 2 hours of them working on it during the races.   Time to put in IMCA caution rules around here.  One caution, go to the pits.  Watching the same 6-7 people cause every single caution ruined what could've been a barn burner of a super race.  Granted, the race, I thought, was really damn good anyway.

I'm just glad I had already made up my mind to go to Bedford before Saturday.  They got about a 45 min rain shower and still had the track ready to go in a little under 2 hours.  I was pretty impressed.

Yes, I was told the ULMS feature was very good. However, it was the messing around all night that angered the people I talked to Saturday at Lernerville. I know I raise a little hell about that place sometimes. However, they had two divisions, TT'd 36 or so 410's, ran four heats, did a redraw, ran a b-main, a dash and a feature for same. Ran two heats and a feature for the 305's and the last checkered was at 10:13. That's how you run a show. By the way, I agree about a track being fast. I'm not now nor have I ever been a fan of dry/slick tracks.
