I know this topic has been beaten to death before but I feel like this is price gouge at it's finest. Since both shows are now considered complete shows, they can charge you for both days and there are no 2 day passes. So for the pits they get you for $40 on Friday and $75 for Saturday for a 2 division show. I think you can go to the World 100 and see the best drivers in the country for cheaper. They will probably get 30 super late models and 30 crates so for 60 total cars they should make a killing with those prices. Vince I know you have been active on here and said you will try to help next year, this is an area I feel like could be improved as far as admission prices. There is no way anyone can justify $75 for a pit pass for 1 day to see a 2 division show.

The prices are pretty outrageous, however, I will still be going, but I have several friends who will not pony up the $50 for the Saturday night show, and these folks are REAL race fans.

I agree. This place is something else. Thats the issue Flash, people like you will still go no matter what the price is. Not talking down on you, but using what you said as an example as why they charge what they charge. Hopefully this si the last year and Lucas Oil moves the Saturday part to another track like Lernerville for a fall race.
Camping $50.00
No Food/drinks to be brought in.
All of this is Free or allowed during any race of the year.
We are staying at home and watching it on MavTv Plus for Free. That $50 we would spend to get in will go a long ways with some pizza and beers.
Hope no one falls through the bleachers!

It's an easy decision this weekend.
Go watch the Little Guys Nationals at Mercer.
IMHO, he got handled big time business wise by RUSH with their Friday show.
I think he's going to loose cash big time this year.
Hate to see, hope it won't happen but that's what I think.
I was going to fork over the 50 because it's Lucas, it's close so not much travel expense.
But I forgot Mercer was running, sure ain't worth the 50 to me now with another track running.
I figured he had the only show in town and he does not.

Sorry Bob, but this is the only time I can see the LOLMS series close to home (I live in Allegheny County), so even though it might be $15 cheaper at another track, gas money would negate any advantage for the lower price for admission. I have MavTv Plus also, but it's not the same as being at the track. But, each to his own.

aghhh you and Jo, the 2 resident RUSH bashers on the stud. You have no idea what you are talking about, it was the track that wanted to have a complete RUSH show on Friday night as opposed to heats Friday and feature Saturday.

I've been to 84 races all over the place this year. There's not a chance in hell I'd pay that for a Lucas show at that place. I'll be at 7 Friday night, and make the trek the same distance north to McKean Saturday Night. I've been to PPMS twice, and it'll be the last two times I'm there in my life. I don't care if its the last track in the world running. The racing sucks, the facility sucks, and the prices doubly suck.

Not bashing RUSH at all with the post.
I think in years past you could go to both shows for the same price.
AM I reading it correctly with 2 separate sand alone shows if you want to watch both or go in the pits for both for 2 days it will be"
$70 to watch 20+50 ?
Pits both days $115 per 75+40 ?
I think you all are missing it's separate shows each day and your missing how much it will cost in total to go to both.
If I can make it on time I'll go to the Friday race and I don't care if it's RUSH they are interesting to watch.
I think the Friday RUSH show will have cars and those fans who will pay the price for Friday but not Saturday.
I think PPMS got handled because fans and I think RUSH racers will pay the Friday price and skip the Lucas show because of cost.
AGAIN, as I said above I hope I will be wrong on it.
Me I'd rather watch at Mercer then fork over 50 Saturday.
You can buy a >> 3 << day ticket at Charlotte for the World Finals 410's, Supers and Big Blocks with all the cars you'll see at PPMS:
for $49 That's a 3 day ticket.

The way I read it you all have the cost wrong.
For two days it's $70 to watch and $115 pits.
How can it be any other way with each show being as printed being >> Standalone <<
I'd bet there standalone because RUSH negotiating said OK you have your show Saturday and I'll rent the track and do my show Friday.
Well tag along supporting you on your Saturday show only taking from the racers what we normally get from them, with it being your show
I think RUSH will do fine on Friday but without PPMS being able to offer fans two days for the $50 cost things won't be all that great for them on Saturday.
Hope it works out for both.
I think PPMS will loose a lot of the lets go camp out and watch both the Friday and Saturday races because two separate shows jacks the ticket price up to $70

After writing the last post this thought occured.
If RUSH racers have to pay RUSH and entry fee for each race to support what RUSH does for them:
How much will a racer without any pit crew have to pay between pit pass and RUSH fee to be able to race both days?
Wow is what I'm thinking and that's going to the races by yourself.
Am I wrong about the RUSH fee to race?
This has nothing to do with bashing, i'm asking only about cost.
edit: I'm curious how much it would cost a RUSH Late racer each year touring and local if they made every race possible, for membership fees, pit fee, each tracks registration fee and RUSH per race fee if they have one. That's one person doing driver and crew.
Again not bashing just wondering about the cost beyond the car and bringing it to race.
I think it's got to be wow! And something us fans don't realize what racers do for us because of their love of racing..

Both Friday and Saturday are Rush Touring shows, so most of the drivers there Friday, will be there Saturday. Also, the entry fee I believe is 100 for Friday and 100 Saturday. Also they will have signs up outside saying no food or drink can be brought in the stands either night. They claim it is because of space in the bleachers but I highly doubt it will be standing room only.

Looking at what the pay out is for both, if mercer wasn't running Saturday i'd pay the $70,
I usually stop for food on the way there because of the prices so not buying food there is no problem.
I remember their beer price as not being out of line either.
Only thing I don't like is having to sit thru more then RUSH and Pro Stocks friday.
But I will.
I do dread driving up their spectator driveway if it's not been fixed.
Hope they do good.

... so a driver has to pay $315 to get in to race both days.
I guess it's a so what that's cheap because the cars they race are very inexpensive compared to Super's.
... ooops, just saw I can watch Lucas at raceway 7 friday for $30.
nevermind the going to PPMS friday i'm going to raceway 7 and don't have to worry about it anymore..
Edit: and looking at Raceway 7's site I see they have $2 beers and I know their food is ok too, especially the French fry stand.
I think I'll call them tomorrow to see if they might do curly fries again.
One year there I asked about the curly fries they use to have and how I miss them.
She said she would get some for me for their next sprint show.
ya know what the next show she got a big bag of curly fries to sell just for me and who ever gets the rest out of the bag till there gone.
NOW that's a nice thing to do for a fan in anyone's book.

I STRONGLY recommend the hot sausage. They make it all at their meat place and it is maybe one of the best race track hot sausage's I've ever had.

I'm not a huge fan of Rush either. The late models and sprints aren't too bad, but the sportsman and mods are worse than watching traffic. I have a real problem with the empire building too. When I was rabidly opposed to Rush was when they ruined the sportsman class at Lernerville, now they're just the racing version of mosquitos, only avoidable.
I still wouldn't pay a nickel to see a Rush only show.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

I'm like you when a track brings this rush crap in I take the This night off they won't get my money.
