Hudson O'Neal (71) from his 17th starting spot (he had to run a B-Main), took the lead from race-long leader Earl Pearson Jr. (46) on lap 93, and went on to a comfortable win.  There were Thirty-four (34) Super Late Models and Thirty-two (32) RUSH Late Models in the pits tonights.  Track was in great shape, not too dusty, multiple racing grooves, and just a very racy surface.  Fast qualifier was Tim Mc Creadie (39), stopping the clock at 18.324 seconds.  Results as follows:

The brilliance of Nick Garin (PPMS builder in 1979) was on full display tonight. Took ONeil 30 laps or so but the bottom line paid off. It was cool to see the battle of the high side and tire management versus the shorter line and moisture of running the bottom. PPMS has its flaws but Id argue against any other track layout itself outside of Eldora that gives consistent 3-4 wide racing like the track showed tonight. Great race.

When they get that surface right it's one of the best big tracks out there. Good race last night, it's rare for me to say because Hudson drove his tail off, I was pulling for EPJ.

There was a hole, just like eldora theres a bump right where the gate is, shit happens... WAY WAY WAY better surface then the train around the bottom last year.. The only thing that made that exciting was you didnt know whos tire was gunna blow next.

Why not focus on the positive, was a very good race, track was supremely racy, not too dusty.  Most of the fans near me seemed to like the program pretty well.  There's no pleasing some of you folks.

Funny I was just going to post throughout the field for both the Pittsburgher and Rush race they were 2-3 wide battling for position versus hugging the bottom choo-choo that you see at a lot of longer races. Made for a much more enjoyable show all around. And dont forget ONeal pitted and was able to work his way back through the field because there were multiple lines.

Yeah that is because of all the rocks in the surface.

The place looked good, the racing was top notch, and yet some find reasons to gripe. Hats off to the entire ppms crew.

If the track were one-lane on the bottom or terribly dusty there would have been 50 posts condemning everything about the place.  But when they put on a great show, very few want to give credit or acknowledge that fact.
