Kudos for them upping the purses for all classes this year. Still not where they should be but getting there.

Unfortunately, as long as Lernerville features the 410 Sprint Cars, Super Late Models, and Big Block Modifieds on a weekly basis (which is one of the reasons why most of us love Lernerville so much), there is not a whole lot more that can be done with the purse, outside of some big-time sponsorships like they have in Central PA.

Idk if they have season point funds, but they could scrap them and add that money to the classes. Add 5 bucks to the front gate might help too.  I agree on sponsorships.

I'd be fine with your suggestions, but many folks would howl about the $5 gate hike.

You know there was a local company that just signed on to sponsor port royal instead of staying at home, since port royal needs so many sponsors to inflate their purse more. I would be fine with paying 20 to get in as long as it went directly to the drivers. You know they same drivers that complain about the purse even after they raised it 15% in two years. I just think it is assnine to compare tracks like lernerville to tracks like central pa tracks and ohio tracks. They have way more money to go around but they also only run 2 or 3 classes every week.

It does seem most places that are running one of the top divisions are charging $20 for the majority of shows. We have been paying that for regular shows in Jersey for years.

A couple years ago raising prices might have been okay, but this year there are people who are scraping to afford to drive to work. They aren't working any less, and still deserve some entertainment too. It's tougher for everyone now, except the people choking off our living.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Its 20 bucks to get in Port for a regular show. Pretty reasonable I think for getting to see 410''s and Super Lates, plus sometimes they add 358 and 305 sprints or 358 limited lates as a third class.

I've been saying the same thing for years. As long as the increase goes toward the purse, I'm okay with it.

I agree, but lots of fans would not be happy to pay another $5 at Lernerville

And for some people that extra $5/person is a real difficulty. I see multiple ends of this issue. The track can't lose money, (at least not for long). Not all of the fans can afford a higher front gate. The drivers and car owners need more purse money. I don't have any answers thought.

Raising ticket prices for 1 person coming in the gate is not bad. A family coming in that gate is another story.

Kids to 8 yrs old, free

9 to 17 yr olds, $12.00 you lose these kids you may just lose the future of dirt racing. Remember that family aspect. These kids are not buying those tickets.

18 to 65 yr olds, $20.00, date night just cost a lot more.

65+, $14.00. Fixed income, retired, the economy ? that 5.00 increase just mite end there regular trip to lernerville on a Friday night.

Family of 4 costs. 60.00 regular admission a trip to the concession stand your dropping 100.00 easy
My 20.00 when I first started to go lernerville, got me in the gate, 2 hot sausage and a large drink, then I'd get my peanuts a NSSN or a AARN. 20 bucks, lol. It led to great times at that place.

I don't do much more than racing anymore but try and entertain  yourself for four hours for $20.  I think it's the best deal going.  What's a 2 hour movie cost?
