I have no complete results yet, but there were Seven (7) 410 Sprint Cars tonight at Latrobe, and Jordan Givler (90) from Central PA won the A-Main over Dan Shetler (29) and A. J. Flick (2).   Other 410s in the pits were Michael Bauer (46) who was a scratch in the A-Main, Cody Bova (20B), Jeremy Hill (14), and Leyton Wagner (38).

There were Sixteen (16) Crate Late Models, Seven (7) Pro Stocks, Fifteen (15) Pure Stocks, Twenty (20) Modified 4 Cylinders, and Eleven (11) Stock 4 Cylinders.  Will post results when they are available. Results as follows:

Their pro stock counts are very similar to PPMS, very rarely are there 10 at Latrobe.  Regarding the Sprints, Latrobe has no one to blame but themselves, you can't schedule over another track and hope to have success.  I hope this opens somebody's eyes up there.

I agree Flash. Hopefully this ends the game of pop up shows. Its not 1992 anymore. Theres not 100 cars around locally anymore.

For clarification, it also wasn't $1500 to win for prostocks. There was $1000 bonus money for the highest finishing latrobe regular. To qualify for the money you had to have raced in 50% of the regular shows. The rest of the purse was normal. So it's no surprise that more cars didn't show up for it.

To clarify the $1500 to win pro stock race. You needed to run at least half of the shows up to this point to qualify for the $1500. If you don't qualify and you win you get the standard $550. The money goes to the highest finishing qualifying car. Can't imagine how you're going to draw new cars and build the class like that.

And there was another $300 that was to be spread across the top 3 finishers but you had to have run 75% of the races there to qualify. I dont know who keeps track of that stuff to know if they qualify.

It's a nice gesture for the regular cars that support the track, but it shuts the door to any outsiders. Instead of bringing in big block mods, sprints, late models, etc. I think the track would do better by putting that energy into growing their regular divisions.

Latrobe needs to work on getting some of their regular divisions established before having all these special shows during the season, and they need to make the pits larger.  Their Super Late Model show earlier in the summer drew only two cars, because they run at so many other tracks in the area.  Not many 305 Sprints for their show either or Big Block Modifieds.  The end of the season races are great for these other divisions at Latrobe, they were very well-supported last year.  

 

 

But what this whole episode indicates is that you can't just throw money around and hope to draw more cars.  I enjoy going to Latrobe, and when they just have regular racing at PPMS, I usually head to Latrobe for their regular racing.  

 

 

However, I do stand corrected.

Not true. The purse was the standard FAST payout, same as Tri Citys pay. Never changed since posted in July. PPMS upped their standard tow money from $100 to $200, that was it.

I was responding to the comment above that PPMS upped their purse at the last minute. Once the FAST show was announced at the end of July the payout never changed. Latrobe increased their winners payout multiple times during the month of August ending with an extra $500 for 2nd place in an attempt to siphon cars from that series. It didnt work. Those are the facts.

Sorry one more thing. The selection of the date was a group decision between the series, PPMS, and Tri-City to make it the first time the series had multiple dates in Pennsylvania/worth the drive for the teams. It was dependent on it working for all parties. Im very confident it wasnt an attempt to ruin an unsanctioned race at Latrobe.
