I posted this on Facebook. RIP Matt.
Godspeed and Rest in Peace to Matt Miley. The worst part of getting older is having to say goodbye to so many people you grew up with and enjoyed so many good times together. I dont think he ever got enough credit for the success of local dirt track racing in this area. Without the Mileys I dont think Rush gets to where its at today. There would be no Ed Laboon Memorial and probably not the organic growth of the Penn Ohio Series. After family, the first person I called when my Dad died was Matt. We had the first ELM 10 days later.
Matt gave me full reigns to not only do my Dads race, but also promote other big races at the track and create new series like the Cheplic races. I learned so much about the inter-workings of the race track, sanctioning bodies, and heck even how to get a track open during Covid. Ill miss our random conversations and what do you think Mr. Promotor emails Id get on a regular basis.
Not many tracks can say theyve been open for 35+ years, and even less can say that about one family/promotor. I hope everyone can appreciate all the good times weve enjoyed as one big racing family over the years during this period. Thank you Matt, Red, Debbie, and all the Mileys for what theyve given us over the years. We will miss you. 🏁

Matt and Red were actually brothers.
