Yes, you read it right. The LM feature was one of attrition. I would expect that even the cars that finished suffered some sort of suspension/drive line damage. The track was very rough in the corners, especially in turns 3 & 4.  The Corrado 10 is being driven by Michael Norris, the feature winner. The #48, Colton Flinner, was DQ'd. There was contact between he and Norris in turn 2 after a late race re-start. The 48 had a run on Norris on the outside. Norris caught a rut that sent him in to Flinner's path. Flinner spun, bringing out the caution. Being a Flinner, he assumed that the contact was intentional (except when he and dear old Uncle John initiate it), and pulled some antics on Norris while the cars were lining up for the re-start. So, he got the hook, deservedly so.

 

The 410's handled the track way better. Brandon Spithaler, Flick, Dale Blaney and Trey Jacobs were clinical in their collective approach.

The track definitely had some character. The sprint feature was badass. Wheelies galore. Still better than an ice skating rink. Flinner doing flinner things. Didn't deserve to be DQ. Woulda been entertaining seeing him drive pissed off.

thought  I heard announcer say DQ for 48 for intentional bringing out the yellow.  Don't see that very often.  From the stands at the other end of the track, I thought Norris came up on him a little,  on a rough track.   That's racing,  certainly not worth loosing points over if your running for points.  It cost 48 about 13.  Crew worked there tails off all night to better the track.  sometimes it looked to me like drivers were hitting those ruts on purpose,  was better surface on both sides.  Oh well,   that's why I sit in the stands and not in a drivers seat.   was on the road home by 11:00.  Thumb's up L'ville

Wouldn't want to see a track that rough every week because I know it's hard on the cars and by extension, the teams bank account. But yes, a hell of a lot more entertaining than dry/slick.

 

On another note. Williamson badly jumped the last Big Block re start. It likely didn't matter; he was probably going to win anyway. However, if another leader does it and they do a false green, then I'm stopping and complaining.

What's the difference between a Flinner driving pissed off and just their normal level of stupid with enough car to make up for it?

 

If I want a clown show, I'll go to a circus. Get the Flinners off the track. Yes, I know there's only 1 of them driving right now, but if there are ever any more to come, and they start to act like a Flinner boot em.

There are always theatrics and drama with that crew. Thing is, all he had to do was run the rest of the feature, and without passing a car, he finishes 7th. No impulse control.

 

And it's not that I'm necessarily a big Michael Norris fan however, I didn't see where he did anything wrong.
