First of all, the physical plant at Latrobe looks great, they have paved more of the entrance road, put new gravel on the walkways, painted all of the old bleachers, put a concession stand in the pits, track surface, etc. However, the reason my results are partial, is because I left at 11:30 PM, and the 40-lap Jesse Sterbutzel Memorial was just beginning. They took a 40-minute intermission, which is ridiculous, they time-trialed only 2 cars at a time on that big track, when they could have done 3, or even 4, at a time. They just waste so much time up there, and this was just a 3-division show, and the Super Late Models and the Pure Stocks only had 12 and 13 cars apiece. Apparently, Darrell Lanigan took home the Jesse Sterbutzel Memorial $10K.
While this isn't the track's fault, the Super Late Models, for the most part, put on a s- -t show all night. The first 10-lap heat, with only 6 cars, took almost 20 minutes to complete. The same couple of cars spun out all night long, and the 30-lap A-Main took over 40 minutes to complete, and then the 12-lap Pure Stock race, with only 13 cars, took over half an hour. The Crate Late Model heats were all very good, and were all completed in about half an hour. So much for the soapbox.
There were Thirty (30) Crate Late Models, Twelve (12) Super Late Models, and Thirteen (13) Pure Stocks, although several of these cars barely mustered 35 mph on the race track. Results as follows:
