First of all, the physical plant at Latrobe looks great, they have paved more of the entrance road, put new gravel on the walkways, painted all of the old bleachers, put a concession stand in the pits, track surface, etc.  However, the reason my results are partial, is because I left at 11:30 PM, and the 40-lap Jesse Sterbutzel Memorial was just beginning.  They took a 40-minute intermission, which is ridiculous, they time-trialed only 2 cars at a time on that big track, when they could have done 3, or even 4, at a time.  They just waste so much time up there, and this was just a 3-division show, and the Super Late Models and the Pure Stocks only had 12 and 13 cars apiece.  Apparently, Darrell Lanigan took home the Jesse Sterbutzel Memorial $10K.

While this isn't the track's fault, the Super Late Models, for the most part, put on a s- -t show all night.  The first 10-lap heat, with only 6 cars, took almost 20 minutes to complete.  The same couple of cars spun out all night long, and the 30-lap A-Main took over 40 minutes to complete, and then the 12-lap Pure Stock race, with only 13 cars, took over half an hour.  The Crate Late Model heats were all very good, and were all completed in about half an hour.  So much for the soapbox.

There were Thirty (30) Crate Late Models, Twelve (12) Super Late Models, and Thirteen (13) Pure Stocks, although several of these cars barely mustered 35 mph on the race track.  Results as follows:

Real race fans appreciate your honesty, flash. I agree, in what world would you run the headline race, last and it not end till 12:30 AM? I believe you posted last year of a similar occurrence where you had to leave without seeing a feature because of the lateness of the event. You would think they would have gotten better at time management but apparently not. As a fan, if I went to a race and they had the headline event last, I would never go back to that track.

So Lanigan shows up and takes home the dollars. I see him finding a way to piss all these guys off that will be racing for 2nd place. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Hardy was light at the scales. Pangrazio and Policz were both in tech when I left

From the shows I went too their, time trials is a major issue. Anytime they run them the show drags way too long. The track exit isn't ideal for cars at speed and the motocross track in infield prevents a lot of cars being parked.

Are they still hand timing cars?

I believe they do it electronically, Benny, but I am not sure.

Been there about a half-dozen times since its most recent re-opening, Haven't experienced a TT program. However, any track with an intermission longer than fifteen minutes is wasting time. Unless track conditions dictate re-grooming, these tracks need to move the program along quicker. Latrobe isn't the only track that abuses an intermission.

track surface held up pretty good for how dry its been,  racing was good.   I like Latrobe but I quit defending them on here long ago.   55 minutes to TT 31 crates???? Come on!!!    And why are we tting  12 Supers???  YUK!!!  Absolutely should hav run the Crates 2nd.  People in my section were leaving at midnight very unhappy.  But the crowd looked good,  people keep coming.  Why work to improve if the seats are full???   Glad you skipped PPMS Flash, to see how the rest of us east siders live.

I actually come to Latrobe quite often, usually go to PPMS when there is some kind of special show, like the Ed Laboon or Jook George Races, 410 sprints, Boss Sprints, etc.   When PPMS is having a "regular" racing program, I usually go to Latrobe, so I am quite familiar with the place.
