TRI-CITY TO JOIN ERIEZ TO PROVIDE DUAL WEEKLY VENUES IN WESTERN PA FOR HOVIS RUSH STOCK CARS IN 2025

November 1, 2024                 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Franklin, PA)...The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series presented by Born2Run Lubricants is pleased to announce the addition of the RUSH Stock Car division to the weekly program at Tri-City Raceway Park in 2025!  The RUSH Stock Cars will be part of the new Friday night program that will also include the RUSH Sprint Cars.  The addition of Tri-City to the RUSH Stock Car Weekly Series program will give racers two venues within 50 miles of each other in western Pennsylvania to race weekly joining Sunday night's Eriez Speedway!

The RUSH Stock Car Series debuted in 2021.  The RUSH Stocks look like "stock cars" resembling Monte Carlos and are powered by Chevrolet Performance 602 crate engines on sealed/spec Bilstein Shocks, and Hoosier spec tires.  Those three key "cost-containment" elements have already proved very successful in the RUSH Sportsman Modified and Sprint Car divisions, both of which continue to have strong forward momentum with great car counts and extremely competitive racing.

Estimated current cost for a complete Chevrolet Performance 602 engine package, carb to pan, range from $7,500 (used) to $10,500 (new), racers who competed in the class this year estimate they have $12,000-$16,000 in their complete cars.

Drivers also have the ability to join RUSH to be part of the $7,500 Weekly Series points fund that pays the top 15 members with $2,000 to the champion.  Eligible teenage member racers can compete for the 3C Graphix Futures Chip Championship.  Member drivers also receive $100,000 in excess participant accident insurance.

"We're here for the long haul and realize the importance of including affordable divisions for racers to participate in as part of our weekly program," stated Tri-City owner Josh Shiffer.  "Both the RUSH Sprint Cars and RUSH Stock Cars fit that need.  Couple that with the strong history and success that these type of Stock Cars had at Tri-City for well over 30 years from the 1970s through the 2000s, and I really believe that over the next couple of years we can build the RUSH Stock Cars into a very viable and important piece of Tri-City.  It's also pretty awesome that a racer competing in the RUSH Stock Cars if at any time would want to move onto the RUSH Sprints or RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, could utilize his same GM 602 crate engine in the transition!"

"I can't express how pleased I was when Josh called to let me know that they would be adding the RUSH Stock Cars to their new Friday night program stated," RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  "We had hoped over the last couple of years that a track in the western Pa. area would pick them up and  partner with Eriez, who has been steadfast in their belief in the need for a true 'cost-containment' Stock Car division over the past four years."

"We've continued to have racers reach out to us in hopes that another track in the proximity of Eriez would pick-up the RUSH Stocks on a weekly basis and I think Tri-City is a perfect fit," added Emig.  "In this footprint, as well as a surrounding radius of 100 miles, there's a deep bed of both current and former racers, their friends and family, along with fans who well remember the strong fields of Stock Cars that competed throughout this area.  Those Stock Cars were on a technical rules package very similar to the RUSH Stock Cars, and thrived in this region.  I'm betting the addition of Tri-City is going to ignite a huge amount of interest in the division moving into the 2025 season!"

In 2024, the RUSH Stock Cars completed 21 events at four different speedways.  Kaden Michael, who won the 2023 3C Graphix Futures Cup for the Stocks, went on to be the 2024 Weekly Series Champion worth $2,000.  Seventeen-year-old Alex Bush was the 2024 3C Graphix Futures Cup Champion in his second year of racing.
