Dustin Smith and Derrick Noffsinger return, Tony Anderson Introduces himself to Victory Lane at Waynesfield Motorsports Park With the pits full and the sun shining bright, three classes fired off at Waynesfield Motorsports Park this Saturday and by 10:30 that evening everyone was on their way home to sleep off a great night of racing. Up first for the evening were our Non-Wing Sprints and taking the prelim victories were Joss Moffett, Zac Osborn, Luke Hall, and Dustin Smith. With the feature lined up showing Dustin Smith and last week’s winner Matt Westfall on the front row the excitement had built into a frenzy. Shooting out into an early lead Dustin Smith had the 54 of Matt Westfall just behind looking for the leader to make a mistake. Five laps in the feature Johnny Heydenreich tested the front stretch wall for the first time checking to see how sturdy it was. Nine laps in Matt Westfall was right behind the 77S of Dustin Smith when Brent Smith spun in turn two slowing the action down for just a moment. Behind the top-two were Zac Osborn, Mike Miller, and Joss Moffett. Right at the drop of the green flag Zac Osborn’s motor stumbled dropping him to seventh in the running order moving everyone else further up towards the front. The second half of the race though went much like the first as Dustin Smith pulled away from the rest of the field negotiating traffic better than anyone else. In the end it was Dustin Smith, Matt Westfall, Mike Miller, Corey Smith, and Joss Moffett rounding out the top-five. “My daughter Madison was here tonight and after last week she wouldn’t talk to me the whole way home after when I didn’t win so I really wanted to make her happy.” “This is also the first time she has got to see me win so it makes it even more special.” The track was a little rough tonight in the heats but they had it just right come feature time.” “I need to thank Shearer Printing for the hero cards they printed this week and Smith Racing for all of the support I get from my Mom and Dad.” Second Division of the night were the Trucks and running under the black and white flags first in the heats were Matt Twining, Derrick Noffsinger, Randy Crossley, and Bill Harmon. Starting the feature on the front row was our own hard luck girl Jessica Nuss and multi-time winner Bill Harmon. With the drop of the green flag Jessica Nuss took the early lead but on lap three trouble came looking when Tim Dick and Gabe Twining got together in turn three. Jessica still had the lead with Bill Harmon, Randy Crossley, Derrick Noffsinger, and Matt Twining making up the top-five. Nine laps in the feature and in turn four Jessica, Randy Crossley, and Pete Zuppardo got together in turn three handing Pete and flat tire and Derrick Noffsinger the lead but luckily the field stayed under green flag conditions. On the next lap though the show was slowed when Aaron Myers stopped on the track right at the flagstand bringing out a yellow flag. Derrick Noffsinger was still showing the way with Mick Hicks, Bill Harmon, Matt Twining, and Scott Fisher making up the top-five. After contact with another truck Eric Sutter became the next victim of a flat tire when he had to stop in turn four bringing out the caution 12 laps in. On the restart Mike Hicks wanted to repeat last weeks win taking the lead with seven laps to go. The next four laps Mick and Derrick played hot potato with the lead, trading every lap at the flag stand. In the end Derrick was just too strong leaving Mike with second place and Bill Harmon, Matt Twining, and Randy Crossley taking top-five honors. “The track was wonderful tonight; the prep guys are doing one heck of a job.” “This was my daughter Avery’s first race and I really need to thank my wife Erin too.” Me, my Dad and my brother Darren pay for this out of our pockets and my whole family helps out a bunch with this deal so I need to thank them too.” Final feature of the evening would be the modifieds and taking heat race wins were Brian Post, last week’s winner Brad Weick, point leader Jon Henry, and a feature winner from a few weeks back, Gary Richard. Starting on the front row both Tony Anderson and Chris Ullery were hoping the front row start would end up paying them the $600 winner share of the purse. Taking the early lead was Tony Anderson but on lap three Davey Gautt spun in turn two colleting Brent Hole heavily damaging the front end of his car. The very next lap the front straight was blocked when the cars of Buzz Jacobs, Davey Gautt, Mike Holbein, and Tom Treon got together bringing out another yellow flag. Tony Anderson maintained his lead over Chris Ullery, Mike Free, Brad Weick, and Jon Henry. Right after that it got weird, real weird, Gary Richard looped it in two, and then Brad Weick fell out of the top-three with a flat tire, one of many for all of the classes for the evening after contact with another competitor. It was then that Chris Ullery started to get closer to race leader Tony Anderson trying to bust through the cushion at times to grab the lead. Just as Mike Free was joining the battle for the lead Brandon Vaughn spun on the back side of the track just as the leaders were getting ready to lap him. Tony still was the tiger with Chris Ullery, Mike Free, Jon Henry, and Daryl Banks in the top-five. As the green flag was dropped for the last time Mike Free began to fall, back, and Jon Henry moved forward. Trying the bottom of three and four Jon Henry couldn’t match the pace of good friend Tony Anderson for the win. Chris Ullery, Daryl Banks, and Mike Free rounded out the top-five. “The track was rough in the heats but Cub really turned the track around for the feature tonight.” “I have been racing a long time and I have never been at a track that had that much bite in it at the end of the night.” “The track was really fast and we missed the set-up a little but maybe not too much.” “I need to thank Easter Tire and Custom Staffing for the help they give me. They make all of this possible.” Non-Wing Sprint Heat 1 1 Joss Moffett 2 Matt Westfall 3 Jon Nelson 4 Jason Shields 5 Russell Doukery 6 Rob Winks Non Wing Sprint Heat 2 1 Zac Osborn 2 Mike Miller 3 AJ Martin 4 Johnny Heydenreich 5 Dennis Ward Jr 6 Dakoda Armstrong 7 Bob Gehr Sr Non Wing Sprint Heat 3 1 Luke Hall 2 Mark Hery 3 Corey Smith 4 Steve Simon 5 Dustin Trost 6 Kyle Simon 7 Bob Gehr Jr Non-Wing Sprint Heat 4 1 Dustin Smith 2 Brent Smith 3 Cody White 4 Jeremy Shambaugh 5 Kyle Conaway 6 Brad Smith 7 Brandon Ferguson Non-Wing Sprint B-Main 1 Dustin Trost 2 Kyle Simon 3 Dakoda Armstrong 4 Kyle Conaway 5 Bob Gehr Sr 6 Dennis Ward Jr 7 Rob Winks 8 Bob Gehr Jr 9 Brad Smith 10 Russell Dockery 11 Brandon Ferguson Non-Wing Sprint Feature 1 Dustin Smith 2 Matt Westfall 3 Mike Miller 4 Corey Smith 5 Joss Moffett 6 Mark Hery 7 Cody White 8 Zac Osborn 9 Johnny Heydenreich 10 AJ Martin 11 Jason Shields 12 Jon Nelson 13 Steve Simon 14 Kyle Simon 15 Jeremy Shambaugh 16 Dakoda Armstrong 17 Brent Smith 18 Dustin Trost 19 Kyle Conaway 20 Luke Hall Trucks Heat 1 1 Matt Twining 2 Jessica Nuss 3 Ralph Shackleford 4 Gabe Twining 5 Roger Keysor 6 Daniel Crowder Trucks Heat 2 1 Derrick Noffsinger 2 Pete Zuppardo 3 Daryl Brackney 4 Eric Sutter 5 Aaron Myers 6 Tim Dick Trucks Heat 3 1 Randy Crossley 2 Jerry Sawmiller 3 Scott Fisher 4 Randy Plaughter 5 Danny Kelly 6 Tom Stauffer Trucks Heat 4 1 Bill Harmon 2 Mick Hicks 3 Ken Poling 4 Jamie Philpot 5 Jerry Hayden Trucks B-Main 1 Tim Dick 2 Aaron Myers 3 Danny Kelly 4 Tom Stauffer 5 Jerry Hayden 6 Daniel Crowder 7 Roger Keysor Trucks Feature 1 Derrick Noffsinger 2 Mike Hicks 3 Bill Harmon 4 Matt Twining 5 Randy Crossley 6 Daryl Brackney 7 Jerry Sawmiller 8 Ken Poling 9 Ralph Shackleford 10 Gabe Twining 11 Tom Stauffer 12 Jamie Philpot 13 Scott Fisher 14 Eric Sutter 15 Aaron Myers 16 Jessica Nuss 17 Pete Zuppardo 18 Danny Kelly 19 Tim Dick 20 Randy Plaughter Modified Heat 1 1 Jon Henry 2 Mike Free 3 Donnie Miller 4 Chad Rosenbeck 5 Barney Craig 6 Kevin Free 7 Jimmy Mox 8 Mike Holbein Modified Heat 2 1 Gary Richard 2 Chris Ullery 3 Steve Duty 4 Brent Hole 5 Jeremy Grover 6 73 7 Denny Szekaes Modified Heat 3 1 Brian Post 2 Tony Anderson 3 Brandon Vaughn 4 Tom Treon 5 Bill Keeler 6 Guy Decamp 7 4J Modified Heat 4 1 Brad Weick 2 Davey Gautt 3 Daryl Banks 4 Stan Smith 5 Buzz Jacobs 6 94Z 7 Chad Burgoon Modified B-Main 1 Jeremy Grover 2 Buzz Jacobs 3 Barney Craig 4 Mike Holbein 5 Kevin Free 6 Guy Decamp 7 Zack Walkup 8 Denny Szekaes 9 Jimmy Mox 10 Bill Keeler 11 Chad Burgoon 12 Dave Treon Modified Feature 1 Tony Anderson 2 Jon Henry 3 Chris Ullery 4 Daryl Banks 5 Mike Free 6 Steve Duty 7 Brian Post 8 Stan Smith 9 Jeremy Grover 10 Mike Holbein 11 Chad Rosenbeck 12 Brandon Vaughn 13 Gary Richard 14 Brad Weick 15 Buzz Jacobs 16 Tom Treon 17 Davey Gautt 18 Barney Craig 19 Donnie Miller 20 Brent Hole Be sure to check out our schedule to see that May 18-19 we will be having our 1st Annual Truck-Off, June 9th the NRA Invaders, and on Tuesday June 26 the third leg of Ohio Speedweek for the All Star Circuit of Champions. Also at the top it says Mike Hicks returns, and I assume it means to victory lane but he got second. Now dont get me wrong it was one heck of a race but I am pretty sure Derrick might not agree. I hope this wont sound like we dont like the job that all are doing at the track, and i am glad we have results posted this way people can keep up if they cant be there. I for one have some family and friends from out of town that look on here for the results. Roger

Thanks again for letting me borrow tools. Pretty awesome to race with guys that are so willing to help each other. See ya in two weeks B)

I will see about putting the right name for the trucks. Thank you for calling me on that. As far as the powder puff race I didn't get those results. I didn't watch the race so I could get down and interview the other winners. I am sorry to the ladies and to Darren.

Hey, any time on the tools and all I can say is your finishes have been alot better than mine this year. I am still trying to figure out how to keep all the parts on the truck and make it run for the complete race not just the first lap or two. I hope that maybe soon I will get to finish a feature. I am just glad Dan didnt eat that drive shaft that I chucked out at him last night in the B beacause that might have hurt if it would of jumped up. I guess i just wanted to test out my saftey loop, Guess what IT WORKS lol. I would like to thank WMP for the results and if thats the only mistake you make then I will be the first one to say great job. I know you only give the results that are givin to you. Thanks again, Roger

See Roger now youre really starting to confuse him:) You had me listed in the write up just fine just not in the heading. Now dont start giving Darren credit for my win. I had last weeks taken from me so I would like to hold on to this one. LOL

I am hoping that you guys took that the right way. I was not wanting to say anything nasty just that nothing ever seems to go your way. You have led a whole bunch of features and there is something that happens every time.

We all just show up ten miutes before you guys and the track looks like that. There is hardly any work involved when working for a track, HA! Just like all of you guys, and girls that work on the cars right? Just show up on Saturday and everything is already done. There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes in the sport right now and I for one and very happy to be at Waynesfield dealing with the racers that I deal with. The thank you goes to all of the teams and drivers that make this place as great as it is.
