Scheduling Conflicts Force the Closing of the Racing Season at Waynesfield Motorsports Park. Due to not being able to find an acceptable date that works into the busy schedules of our racers, fans, and employees Waynesfield Motorsports Park has closed its racing season with the event that ran on August 18. The points have ended as well with that event and the 2007 season champions are as follows. Non-Wing Sprints-Corey Smith, Modifieds-Jon Henry, B-Rad Racing Supplies Mini-Sprints-Chris Smalley, Trucks-Mike Hicks, and Stock Cars-Jim Post. We at Waynesfield Motorsports Park would like to thank all of our drivers, team owners, crew members, sponsors, fans, and employees for making this season a successful one. We are still going to have a benefit for Hank Zimpfer and his family and are looking for ideas on what we could do to involve fans, teams, and race cars to do that. If you have an idea please sign into the message boards at racestud.com, pitgate.com, or indianaopenwheel.com to help us with the decision process. One of the ideas that are being looked at would be to open the gates at Waynesfield Motorsports Park and allow people to drive on the track, dirt racecars, have a potluck, or something very similar to that. Be sure to check out our schedule to see that May 18-19 we will be having our 1st Annual Truck-Off, June 9th the NRA Invaders, and on Tuesday June 26 the third leg of Ohio Speedweek for the All Star Circuit of Champions.
