#429697 Four things which can hurt tracks and promoters

Posted by Sprintdudes on 24 April 2017 - 10:37 PM

As I have long said, most tracks in the western PA area have too many classes!!   Three or four classes is all any track should have!!  So far car counts this year have been mostly disappointing except for the Lernerville and Stateline openers. Except for the Stateline opener, which was a rain-out special from last year, and the ULMS & Lucas sanctioned races, I don't think there has been a Late Model race yet with more than 14 cars!!  That is reason for concern!!

What promoters can't realize is that there are "x" amount of racers in our area.  Doesn't matter the division, the "x" stays the same.   8 different "divisions" in our area between ALL classes compared to 16 different divisions in ALL classes makes a huge difference.  Car counts are low in most classes because of this.  You only have "x" amount of racers!!!   Add more classes, divide the "x" amount of racers between all of the classes!  Every year it seems to get worse!

Wolfgang to Join Sprint Dudes

Effective immediately Tye Wolfgang will be joining sprintdudes.com as a writer covering mainly, but not limited to central PA. Sixteen year old Wolfgang manages a non-self profit sprint car promotional organization, (Tye Wolfgang Promotions). Wolfgang will handle all the duties of recapping races, providing news, and information from within the region.

“I am looking forward to the new experience” said Wolfgang. “I feel it is a great opportunity to grow both Tye Wolfgang Promotions and sprintdudes.com; we have similar goals in mind and are both looking to grow and help each other.”

Everything started when Wolfgang covered the Ice Breaker, a simple phone call was made and things took off from there. “I am a high school kid just trying to make it in this sport. I am grateful for the opportunity.” Wolfgang’s first article as a member of Sprint Dudes is set to drop later this week. Strap in and stay tuned for what lies ahead!

#390037 MUST READ - EVERYONE

Best wishes to Daren Pifer on a speedy and full recovery.

Some eye witnesses claim there were no fire extinguishers at the track when he got burned, now I am told by two others that were there, that they did have fire extinguishers, just not positioned around the track like you would expect.  One tweet during the event stated that the track was headed to a local store to purchase fire extinguishers for the features.

Not sure who or what to believe, just hope Darren gets well soon.
