#2Posted 18 April 2009 - 02:52 PM be nice or the snitches will tell the terminator and he will try and kick u off the site, I know people who got kicked off for voicing thier opinion on here, but they still talk on here under a diff name and dont care and still voice what the little snitches dont like about thier track or people, but people can get on here and cut throat on fuel sales and parts but cant say what they think, i thought thats what a form was but whatever. this site is just like limaland it see's only what they want JMO

I totally agree, if some of the big sanctioning bodies like the All-Stars or WoO were to race on something like that, Most of them would have packed up their equipment and left. I recall a few years back that there were a few that packed up and left when the track was like that. I am really surprised that more sprint cars didn't end up on their lids.JMO #4Posted 18 April 2009 - 05:01 PM
its kind of hard to prep a track if you cant get on it until late thursday early friday not to mention 2 1/4" of rain we got early in the week its the begging of the season what did you expect. i know it didnt make for good racing but there is only so much you can do to a track like that.

You could keep the university OFF of it during the week and PREP it like it should be
I'm sure that would help

#9Posted 19 April 2009 - 03:01 PM Main Entry: 1prac·tice Variant(s): also prac·tise \ˈprak-təs\ Function: verb Inflected Form(s): prac·ticed also prac·tised; prac·tic·ing also prac·tis·ing Etymology: Middle English practisen, from Middle French practiser, from Medieval Latin practizare, alteration of practicare, from practica practice, noun, from Late Latin practice, from Greek praktikē, from feminine of praktikos Date: 14th century transitive verb 1 a: carry out, apply <practice what you preach> b: to do or perform often, customarily, or habitually <practice politeness> c: to be professionally engaged in <practice medicine> 2 a: to perform or work at repeatedly so as to become proficient <practice the act> b: to train by repeated exercises <practice pupils in penmanship> 3obsolete : plot intransitive verb 1: to do repeated exercises for proficiency 2: to pursue a profession actively 3archaic : intrigue 4: to do something customarily 5: to take advantage of someone <he practised on their credulity with huge success — Times Literary Supplement> — prac·tic·er noun If you were able to comprehend skip's entire post you would have been able to figure out that it was driver tryout's. No one student driver ran more than 12 laps in a stock car or the 3 drivers that tried out in the modifieds ran 10 or less laps. those laps were run on the infield of a baseball diamond. Hardly anything like what the track was last Friday. I have been going to races about 50 years now and very seldom is there a "good" racetrack during the spring. It happens, but the chances of it are slight. Gene's track record is pretty good, give it a chance. #10Posted 19 April 2009 - 03:56 PM ur so smarts, we did understand it was a try out, they still had to pay the insurance so why not turn it into a practice session? doesnt sound like a fair try out, but we are all stupid, does that make sense, try outs for a dirt car on a asphalt surface? sounds like attica and eldora had pretty good racing surfaces, so go ahead make ur excusses for them.

#11Posted 19 April 2009 - 07:15 PM Didn't Limaland add some new dirt to the racing surface? #12Posted 19 April 2009 - 07:42 PM
I don't think so , at least I have not heard anything about adding any 2019 Race Counter - Total- 32 + (Rainouts- 13) Atomic- 4, Attica- 6, Eldora- 10, Fremont-6, Wayne County-2, Waynesfield- 3, Winchester-1,

I raced for twelve years and can only remember one other time it was that bad. The condition of the track will cost them cars,I know 2 cars that bounced there way to broken transmissions and blown engines from over reving from the wheels leaving the ground. Between the condition of the track, and the constant favortisim, they will run that track right into the ground. Hey barney your restart was a good one,The just needed tony to catch up!!! #15Posted 19 April 2009 - 10:54 PM
Like i said in my other post before i was turned in and it was deleted because i was a bad boy. Gene at the end of last yr put some new dirt in it and worked it in.
The try outs were for the students to find out who would get to drive them. Unfair no just seeing who would get to drive the mods.
As far as the track surface, Like i said gene told me after the try outs he took the track way down and said he took it to far. Then when the rain hit he said he was in trouble.
He told me right after hot laps friday night that he was in trouble because what he had done was gonna make the track to soft and when the mods would hit it, it would rut up and be a mess.
Like i said one bad night and all the uproar.
I was at eldora a couple of yrs ago for a usac show and the all mighty eldora was so rough that it knocked the fuel injection off the top of one of the cars and they told the drivers to be carefull because it was a plowed cornfield. Where were all you guys to rag on the all mighty tony stewart.
There was a lot a great racing last yr on a good racing surface. If you choose to not come back .that is your choice show me where eldora has as many good pay outs for stocks and mods with special shows like lima does.
Now there is no name calling or any bad words towards any one so if my post gets deleted again so be it.

I believe Attica had some new dirt added a few years back and the track was pretty rough for a while. Gene is the best track guy around. Apparently there are some people with short memories about how nice the track is week after week since Gene came to Limaland.

Track was terrible. I cannot understand it. Heard from to other gentleman as far as track preperation. Chad Baltes at Eldora said he has Eldora so packed that they could have had any ammount of rain and the track would have been fine.(during the usac show on Sat. last week.) Then I talked to Dean Miracle yesterday at waynesfield. He also commented on it by saying who tears up a track like that in the spring. My own opinion, doesn't Gene or anyone at the college own a TV. I don't watch much TV but I knew that we were going to get substantial rains at the begining of the week. I probably wouldn't have tore the track up like that. Heard from some drivers that said they may only be racing on Saturdays if it stays like this. If the track doesn't change and the favoritism stays the same the only drivers that will be their are the good old boys club. (allison, yokum, and anyone in hammons car.) Wonder who would start on the pole of the heat?

Grandstand man how they forget how good the racing has been in the last 2 yrs with 3 and 4 wide racing. But the track conditions sure didnt bother Allison Wilson, or Stewart. Gene did put a lot a dirt into the track after last yrs racing. Funny how last yr all we heard on here was great Job on the track Gene, Now after one race he is a rookie that doesnt know what he is doing. Lima is a fast high banked track that is gonna take a lot a beating the way they fly around it being a 1/4 mile. WMP is listed as a 1/3 mile track, It wont taking the beating in the corners as a shorter track would, or a 1/2 mile would. Funny if you go to eldora and get just as much dirt flying as lima, but you will only hear it on here as to how dusty it is. Every track has had their own little nights where it has gotten rough or dusty , but you will only hear about it on here.I better watch it before i get this post deleted. skip i know gene knows how to prep a track and i know how great the racing has been and it will get back to that point this year. i think a lot of the problem is it was just a really really long winter this year and people were tired of sitting at home then they get to the track and looks great in hot laps and all of a sudden its tore up and the track looks like crap. i think everyone realizes that gene knows what he is doing and i know i believe that he will have the track running great very soon (maybe even this weekend) i just think the long winter took its tole on the fans as well as drivers and then the track wasnt what everyone was hoping it would be. #20Posted 20 April 2009 - 05:18 PM yes skip u need to pipe it down,
